Think of all the memorization you'd have to do to be literate. Like learning Japanese was going just swell until I got to the point where I realized I'd need to learn about a thousand kanji, and then there's kanji combinations to form words on top of that with obscure links that you'd have to really know the culture to understand.
But it is a very efficient language for the amount of information per character, so all that memorization might be worth it. If you ever watch any anime, you can see this when they use subtitles to translate stuff written down. There's often not enough space to show it all or time to read it because it's set up for japanese not english.

i mind when there's some weird-ass rationalisation for the creator's barely disguised fetish. when asked why 2B was styled that way, yoko taro said "i like looking at girls". when asked why quiet was styled like that, hideo kojima said "when you find out the reason, you will be ashamed of your words and deeds" only for the reason to be fucking nonsense.
just own it man, geez.

look ricky, i know you're reasonable. we're not talking about the character in a vacuum, we're talking about kojimas extreme defense of what would otherwise have been accepted as just standard fanservice, and the fact that the excuse was so flimsy. quiet doesn't fit into her setting, sure. that happens in a lot of japanese media. but kojima made such a big deal about it before release that she somehow fits in worse than if he had said nothing.

Can I be real I like it when it's both.
I have personal characters for stuff and they're very much designed in a way where I am attracted to them. I think a visually striking appearance is better than looking like a generic lump of metal robot dude. I'll get out a bullhorn and say "SHES SHAPED LIKE THIS BECAUSE ITS HOT"
At the same time a rational in universe reason they look like that or have xyz feature is also fun and useful for storytelling.
A core example is that I have a water dragon-lady character, her outfit is swimwear inspired. But she spends loads of time in the water and can stay there for an extended duration via cutaneous respiration.
but that's still owning it! most people like or are fine with sexy characters, as long as it fits the setting. quiet is infamous because not only is she at odds with her environment, the creator actively lambasted people on twitter for pointing that out. quiet is a weird character.
just for reference, the reason she has to be naked is that she gets nutrients from the sun. just like a character in an earlier metal gear who is always fully clothed. she also moves like a cat in heat, rubbing herself on things and shoving her ass into the camera in an active warzone. it's like she's in brazzers parody of her own game.

I mean I do and I don't. Attractive characters can exist, that's ok, that's standard. But fan service is cringe and probably exclusionary.
How does one get five MGS games deep and then decide to make a stand about Quiet?

If it was only tits in the game i would have hated it but MGS V Phantom Pain is a great game and if it were finished it would have been 10 times better, but Konami had to fuck it up.

She was the best ally to bring out with you. She never missed!
She was unable to shoot if she needed to change position to get a better angle, couldn't shoot at anyone indoors, and needed 2 shots if they were wearing a helmet.
Meanwhile D.D. could also sense enemies in an area, and take out anyone instantly with the knife regardless of amount of armor. And stun knife if you wanted to capture them.
Only thing Quiet was better at was a quick shot to avoid alert if you get spotted. That and fan service of course.
