We still do, but we used to too.

I know a provincial officer whose job today is managing paid first nations informants. Mostly intel on potential blockades of rail pipeline or roads. It takes a surprisingly small amount of money to get somone to turn on their people.

Canada keep them in a dire situation, in this case it takes a small amount of money … bad mouth will say that is by design
