I don't understand why anyone would sign an agreement with this guy. He goes back on his word every day, he has no credibility.
Not only do they not keep their word, they use fake negotiations as a deceptive tactic and then kill the opposing negotiators. Not that I expect them to do that to Canada, but there’s no such thing as good faith negotiations from them.

You tell me that the man who stood by and asked "both sides" to respect international law in both Iran and Venezuela rather than call out the U.S. for the initial violation of international law is the guy to stand up to the U.S.? That the man who gave up the digital services tax the last time around is the person to stand tall and not capitulate?
The man has been talking about the possibility of not renewing CUSMA for ages now, why not take that as a sign to not engage?

The high speed rail project he's putting in place is, as always, going to be a public-private partnership rather than a public crown corporation like Via Rail is. His affordable housing strategy has simply been "build more homes" and poking for the private sector to do the right thing when they're the ones price gouging us to begin with by treating a home as an investment rather than a human right.
He still hasn't said anything about the efforts of Ford and Smith to further privatise the healthcare industry and how he'd protect public health with the Canada Health Act. His government forced arbitration on airline attendants striking against Air Canada over unpaid work. He's laying the groundwork for a new pipeline when the oil & gas industry has abandoned workers through automation leaving them nowhere else to go, and he's unwilling to ban surveillance pricing when we're in a cost of living crisis.

Yeah, I feel for his words many times now. He does something bad, then a press conference with all his charms, here comes another bad thing, another press... rinse and repeat.
The digital services tax was expected to bring $2B USD. He dropped it, alleging help in the negotiations without any fallback plan. At that moment, I realized he was using those excuses as an opportunity to pass his agendas, as in, dropping those taxes were his plans all along. It is easy to pass unpopular decisions when he has a scapegoat like Trump.
