Flippant Anarchism. A lighter take on social criticism with the aim of agitation.

Post humorous takes on capitalism and the states which prop it up. Memes, shitposting, screenshots of humorous good takes, discussions making fun of some reactionary online, it all works.

This community is anarchist-flavored. Reactionary takes won't be tolerated.

Don't take yourselves too seriously. Serious posts go to !anarchism@lemmy.dbzer0.com

  4. Absolutely no redfash jokes. This includes anything that props up the capitalist ruling classes pretending to be communists.

  5. No bigotry whatsoever. See instance rules.

How about he go live there instead.

Also just, beyond the cruelty of it all, imagine being down on your luck and between homes and jobs and now you're shipped to the other side of the world (where you may face death for your sexual orientation) and now what might have been temporary for you, a rough period of living in your car or on the street before you get back on your feet, is now the rest of your life spent desperately trying to get back home.

I was housing unstable in college and had to sleep in my car a few times. I took that pain in order to become an engineer rather than dropping out and entering the workforce. A friend took a harder path and was homeless in college off and on, now she's in law school after years of working as a public servant. When you throw away the homeless you throw away human beings, both those whose value is entirely in that fact (which should be enough) and those who will return to having a home and will contribute to society and the economy.

Financial obesity is an existential threat to any society that tolerates it, and needs to cease being celebrated, rewarded, and positioned as an aspirational goal.

Corporations are the only ‘persons’ which should be subjected to capital punishment, but billionaires should be euthanised through taxation.

[–] PotatoesFall@discuss.tchncs.de 16 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

If he's ready to give the homeless $240 a month, he can go do so and it would actually help them quite a lot.

[–] explodicle@sh.itjust.works 8 points 3 hours ago (2 children)

He wouldn't even pay them once they moved to Uganda.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 6 points 2 hours ago

If you consider the US relationship to Uganda, its very possible he'd pay them to function as mercenaries for the repression of Ugandan locals and the extraction of their domestic resources via compulsed and trafficked labor.

[–] ZombiFrancis@sh.itjust.works 5 points 2 hours ago

Gotta charge them back for transit, fuel, productivity time lost and discrepancies in projected profits. Looks like once in Uganda they owe $4.39 per day for ten years at which point they'll start to look into paying towards that daily $8.13. Unadjusted for inflation of course.

If I had a name like catsinmuhtiddies, I would change that shit immediately upon being of legal age to do so.

How about we shoot you to space but as a token of good will you can take all of your money with you.

I'm homeless. I have a PhD and I guarantee I've contributed more to society than this fat cat.

All I see is this

[–] mycodesucks@lemmy.world 28 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

The most heinous part is he would ABSOLUTELY not even pay the $8.13 a day. He'd rage and fight it in court for several thousand times what it would cost to just pay it.

[–] stormeuh@lemmy.world 5 points 10 hours ago

The problem there is that getting him to pay would set an example. Billionaires can't be seen to be coerced by the state into doing anything. That would show they are not untouchable, and would probably destroy the apathy from the general public which keeps them in power.

[–] switcheroo@lemmy.world 43 points 18 hours ago (4 children)

Why are all rich parasites so gross looking? He looks like a bloated tick.

There's literally no downside to overeating if you're a rich fuck. Your money buys you sex, companionship, friendship, the best medicine and doctors in the world (all of this is in air quotes), whatever your shallow heart desires. They don't go for anything beyond the surface, it's all they care about and know, because they're all sociopaths.

"Billionaire businessman John Catsimatidis lives on Manhattan's Upper East Side in New York City. He has resided in the same 14th-floor apartment at Fifth Avenue and 63rd Street for over 20 years, and also purchased a home in East Quogue, NY, according to source 2 and source 4."

[–] Lodespawn@aussie.zone 12 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

It's probably reasonable to assume all of the 14th floor windows are his ..

[–] fakeman_pretendname@feddit.uk 4 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

... and if we were to count those floors, from the outside of the building for some reason, is America a 'Ground Floor is 1st Floor" or "Ground Floor is 0th Floor" kind of place?

[–] Lodespawn@aussie.zone 2 points 10 hours ago

That would be a question for an American =) that said, given the assumed location of the building it's probably also safe to assume that the occupants of the 13th and 15th floors are also big rent seeking pieces of shit. So maybe cast a wider net ..

[–] MantisToboggon@lemmy.world 69 points 22 hours ago (2 children)

Baron Harkonnen over here.

[–] ImgurRefugee114@reddthat.com 18 points 20 hours ago* (last edited 19 hours ago)

I don't know anything about Dune so I always think about the spirit of Harkonnen from Hellsing when people mention the name and TIL it's "a humorous caricature of Baron Vladimir Harkonnen, the principle villain [from dune]"... So I was thinking about the right guy just in a round-about way

[–] NigelFrobisher@aussie.zone 14 points 18 hours ago

He could just pay his taxes.

[–] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 22 points 20 hours ago (2 children)

I vote we send the billionaires to live on $8.13 a day.

The most recent estimates of unhoused people in the United States is 771,000 (https://www.security.org/resources/homeless-statistics/). At $8.13 per day, that works out to 2.3 billion dollars per year. Since he is too stupid to do math, I’m not sure he is aware of how much it would actually cost him for his plan.

[–] crusa187@lemmy.ml 44 points 21 hours ago

We’re spending about that much per day right now pissing away western hegemony in Iran. pity, that money could do so much more good as UBI.

In fact, I’d argue we should increase federal income taxes on the billionaires to 80%, then use the proceeds to give every US citizen free healthcare, and outlaw homelessness by building public housing to place them in if someone needs/wants it.

If billionaires such as this guy don’t like that, I’m sure the good people of Uganda would gladly take them in considering the great value they add to a society.

[–] SacralPlexus@lemmy.world 13 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

When he said “we’ll give them a check” he meant taxpayers, not himself. He is too smart to pay taxes no doubt.

[–] piccolo@sh.itjust.works 9 points 19 hours ago* (last edited 19 hours ago)

He is too smart to pay taxes no doubt.

More like born rich to pay someone smart enough to avoid paying taxes.

A very, "in the coming collapse we will target you and your entire class. Only then will you feel a quarter of the oppression you've dealt to the entire world. There will be no escape." to all billionaires.

Whoa, he definitely looks better with clothes on.

Absolutely no understanding how terrible of an idea this is and he probably considers himself a "thought leader".

Give people over an hour of minimum wage for nothing every day? Fucking socialist!

Descend, Republican ghouls!

[–] username_1@programming.dev 18 points 22 hours ago

Hey, I agree to not live near this guy for 8 USD per day. Where can I receive my payment?

[–] DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 4 points 17 hours ago

Yes, they're all horrible, every single one. Any amount of power makes people more apathetic, and more fearful, even just a middle manager role at some middling company. The more power, the worse. These monsters are fearful, fearful that someone will kill them, or take their power, and that no one will ever love them for who they are instead of their money. They're apathetic, they care about no one but themselves, not even their own family. They're egotistical, some to the point of believing they are doing their god's work on earth and can do no wrong. They're also criminals, some directly, but all through the people who manage their money.

Billionaires are horrible, horrible people, no one should want anything to do with them, much less look up to them. Never defend a billionaire, they would never defend you.
