I think Zebra makes “wearable computers” that essentially look just like this. They’re marketed towards warehouse workers.

I just staple it to my face
I want a big gauntlet with a largw screen and more processing power on my arm instead.
If you use your hand just to check time - useful.
For everything else, terrible idea. String will catch up on everything and will etch itself in flesh between your thumb and pointing finger. Holding anything with your palm closed would become annoying as hell.
Would be great if it were a super tiny watch, like a waterproof electronic sticker. Completely intrusive as a chonky smartwatch.
Why would you want a strap around your thumb? Terrible
I could see it being better for biking directions
wash your hands kevin
Have a look how Koreans wear watches and suddenly the first first Galaxy gear makes sense
Does the person in the drawing have limited mobility in their arm so they can't just turn their wrist towards their face?
Idk it's been decades since i wore a watch, if you have a phone there's no point
I don't like carrying my phone on me and I do a lot of activities where I don't pull out my phone all the time. I can't just take a phone out as I am up on the rock wall to see how long I'm taking
Well fair enough, idk about having a wristwatch on while rock climbing but if it works it works
Some smartwatch can have their own SIM and can be the phone.
Like you could go out on a run or errand without bringing your phone (or even a wallet if you've setup a digital wallet on your watch).
