For the people who want to blame the women... Keep in mind, the women themselves probably felt they had no choice. Refusing would probably get thier scholarships revoked or some other form of retaliation. At the very least they we surely be flooded with death threats from maga followers all over the countrynif word got out. Some of them may have wanted to go, some may not. We don't really know. But if your thoughts are to blame them automatically, that's borderline victim shaming.

Yeah no, i don't want to be on a photo with criminals and pedophiles, but thank you

[–] ReluctantMuskrat@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago (1 children)

This picture features the champion 2025 Women's team and 4 of them were seniors so have since graduated and scholarship not an issue. Yet except for the one competing in Europe, the others are present and smiling like they're proud.

I'm sorry I even mentioned a specific thing like scholarship. Seems to cause people to stop right there. They can be retaliated against in a lot of ways, even when they have left. And of course, you know the pciture hasn't been altered at all right? And you can see what they really feel from the picture too. If you want someone to be made at... focus on the guy in the center.

[–] daannii@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago

They might have wanted to stand back away from his hands. I know I would.

[–] BigMacHole@thelemmy.club 78 points 5 days ago (3 children)

There's NO way those Women COULD have Known that Donald "Grab them by the Pussy" "I wish Ghislaine Maxwell the best" Trump was a Misogynist!

[–] NatakuNox@lemmy.world 33 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Lol the fact that they went to the white house shows how little some people take misogyny/bigotry seriously. I wouldn't let trump give me a high five let alone let him stand in front of me or even be in a picture with me. But NFL and NHL teams will be kissing his ass this summer.

[–] betterdeadthanreddit@lemmy.world 16 points 5 days ago (2 children)

I'd let him stand in front of me. My future attorney would not be very happy with me if I said anything more.

[–] MrVilliam@sh.itjust.works 4 points 5 days ago (1 children)

You'd never be in the same room as him if you said anything more. And the fascist police would probably take you away for saying it.

[–] swab148@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 5 days ago (1 children)

But we're all thinking it.

[–] NatakuNox@lemmy.world 2 points 5 days ago

betterdead and Trump having a good time together.

[–] Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works 9 points 5 days ago

Every time someone visits him after a win I lose ALL respect for them.

Like, the Entire US hockey team. Fuck them all. What a bunch of assholes.

[–] FenrirIII@lemmy.world 7 points 5 days ago (1 children)

They're from Georgia, likely already brainwashed by Conservatives

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 3 points 5 days ago

Very likely

[–] sad_detective_man@sopuli.xyz 50 points 5 days ago (1 children)

He raped girls, Janice. What the fuck are you talking about making women stand in the back?

Don't worry guys, THIS is the thing that will be too far 🙄

[–] charokol@lemmy.world 5 points 4 days ago

There have been lots of backlashes so far, but this is THE backlash

[–] modus@lemmy.world 15 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Guys, I'm beginning to think this guy doesn't respect women. Or anyone.

[–] MrRandom@lemmy.zip 5 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (1 children)

that's OK, these women don't respect themselves either.

[–] modus@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago

Good point. Anyone who indulges this narcissistic pedophile in a photo op has no self-respect.

[–] grumpusbumpus@lemmy.world 30 points 5 days ago (2 children)

Is this a new photo? Who is willingly getting their photo taken with this shitstain and his cronies? If you're smiling in a photo with him at this point, you're complicit.

[–] quick_snail@feddit.nl 3 points 4 days ago

I would definitely take a selfie with trump...as his body swings from a noose.

[–] ripcord@lemmy.world 4 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Anyone who wants anything from him. Which is a lot of people.

And anyone in his cult. But mostly it's the first ones getting their picture taken.

[–] ripcord@lemmy.world 7 points 5 days ago

Like, how the fuck are there so many pieces of shit still buying Teslas - but there are millions of pieces of shit still buying them

[–] Soup@lemmy.world 13 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Honestly? Don’t care. If you’re agreeing to go there and get photos taken with him I am going to laugh at you when you get the expected treatment.

[–] Modern_medicine_isnt@lemmy.world 4 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Keep in mind, the women themselves probably felt they had no choice. Refusing would probably get thier scholarships revoked and such.

Though still I don't care either. We already know trump only cares about himself.

[–] Soup@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago (1 children)

At some point you gotta take a stand. People from the US always ready to make excuses why they can’t do something. It’s gotten so bad there, and here in Canada, too, honestly, and it’s like, what the fuck will get people to get off their asses at this point?

[–] Modern_medicine_isnt@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago (2 children)

I am fine with taking a stand, but point your hate at the guy front and center, not the women behind him you know nothing about. It's just a distraction technique.

[–] Soup@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

No. I mean, yes also, but holy fuck what will it take for you losers to finally start holding each other accountable? All they had to do was not go somewhere, it would have been incredibly easy, and the only reward they got from it is a terrible photo with a terrible person which only serves to further validate him and everything he does.

For fuck’s sake, I’m not asking them to shoot him in the back.

[–] Modern_medicine_isnt@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

You don't know it would be incredibly easy. You think it would be... but you don't know. I can give you any number of possible reasons it might not be easy, and in fact might be incredibly hard. I don't know any single one is true, but there are so many, and all you need is one to be true.

[–] Soup@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Bro, the entire country is falling apart at the seams. Is there that little solidarity in the US that “go to the Whitehouse to be disrespected by the president” is seen as a life-or-death command?

Weak.

Um, you know how die hard maga folks are. What if these women's parents are maga. No telling what they would do to their kid who refused to meet the president. This team was from Georgia after all. And maga followers have sent death threats for far less. The women don't have any security, getting death threats can be very traumatizing. That alone is probably enough of a reason to go if one didn't really want to.

[–] TransNeko@lemmy.world 0 points 3 days ago (1 children)

so you want me to show respect for a bunch of maga sluts? no thanks.

Nope, I want you to leave them alone and spend your time disrepecting the person we know is an asshole. Like, where are the Epstien files.

[–] dan1101@lemmy.world 31 points 5 days ago

At least some of the blame is on them, did they expect good treatment from a narcissist misogynist pedophile rapist?

[–] AmidFuror@fedia.io 18 points 5 days ago

This article was amended on 23 April 2026. Trump’s current cabinet is the least diverse in this century, not the least diverse in history as an earlier version stated.

Yeah, that claim would raise a few eyebrows from critical thinkers....

[–] Zak@lemmy.world 11 points 5 days ago (2 children)

I'm a little surprised he's not trying to fuck them.

[–] Lushed_Lungfish@lemmy.ca 29 points 5 days ago

They are in university. Too old for him.

He's trying to do it the only way he still can.

[–] Drusas@fedia.io 8 points 5 days ago

In a video shared by Martin, Trump approaches the group and shakes the hands of the five men, but does not do the same to the women.

That's even worse. I'll bet every American woman has experienced that particularly egregious misogynistic snub.

[–] Raiderkev@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago

Who gives a single solitary fuck? Oh no, the fascist pedophile running the government is taking a bunch of space up in a photo with a bunch of other fascists, and some are women! Fuck em all.

[–] aesthelete@lemmy.world 1 points 4 days ago

The maggots and the MAGA choir, everyone!

[–] SnarkoPolo@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago

It's a fascist country, what did you expect?

[–] quick_snail@feddit.nl 1 points 4 days ago (6 children)

Anastasiia Lopata, Mai Nirundorn, Aysegul Mert, Sarah Branicki and Alexandra Vecic; in the middle row: Tatum Buffington, Guillermina Grant, Haley Gaudette and Sofia Rojas; and in the front row: Mell Reasco and Hayden Mulberry.

Name and shame. You shouldn't have accepted an invite to the home of a pedophile fascist. Just tell him to fuck off.
