As far as I’m concerned, they should be locked in, and at best given only water and MRE’s until they do their fucking job. And no, no special treatment for the olds. Maybe it’d make them reconsider their career choices and fucking retire already.

I was going a different direction after the locked in part
Can we lock them in the hole and conveniently forget about them for 72 hours and see if they come out the other side will to do their fucking job.
Video on C-SPAN shows legislators watching an 85-minute Down the Rabbit Hole video, messaging shitposts to sleeping friends, half-heartedly checking a decelerated social media feed with more European posts to skip past, restraining themselves from going to bed because it's just this one more thing and then they definitely will (certainly not now because it's not on a multiple of 30 minutes), forgetting to hydrate, and thinking about how this is the last night they'll do this and how they'll turn everything around tomorrow because they got it out of their system tonight.
Well, they're mostly old, so it might be the last time they do this.
