All countries should start including that as a requirement for anything this administration wants them to do.

[–] ClownStatue@piefed.social 15 points 2 months ago

That and agreement to a $500b penalty for reneging on agreements.

🍁 Canadian English

Eleanor pulled on her favourite grey sweater and stepped outside to check on her neighbour’s garden. The autumn colour was breathtaking — fibre-thin leaves of amber and crimson drifted past the old theatre on the corner. She had promised to catalogue the different plants while Margaret was travelling, and she took the task seriously. After scribbling notes in her cheque-book sized journal, she wandered back inside, put the kettle on, and settled in for a quiet afternoon. It was the kind of ordinary day she had learned to recognise as its own small gift.

as an english canadian, i now feel so validated in my inability to confidently spell these words

[–] Reannlegge@lemmy.ca 4 points 2 months ago

You should see my spell checker and grammar checker light up on the US one.

[–] albbi@piefed.ca 2 points 2 months ago

This is why I never know if a word ends with re or er.

[–] a_gee_dizzle@lemmy.ca 5 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Wow, I never really appreciated just how different American spelling is until I read this

[–] Reannlegge@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 months ago

This is just a small amount of words.

[–] cadekat@pawb.social 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

My personal favourite is "colourized".

[–] Reannlegge@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 months ago

I will admit I had AI write this because I did not know what some of the words they spell wrong were; I did not know that they did not hace cheques rather they had checks.

Correction to title: It's the "Trump/Epstein Files". Go Manitoba! Go Canada!

[–] cheeseburger@lemmy.ca 23 points 2 months ago

Based Kinew:

“What we want to see happen, is get all these tariffs lifted and the threat of tariffs to stop,” Kinew said. “Maybe we should say that they need to release the Epstein files and then we’ll remove the booze ban.”

“Donald Trump obviously does not like talking about the Epstein files because he’s mentioned in there so often,” the premier added.
