You need to provide an archived link of trump saying this. Anyone can help, you all have an hour. Sorry, but I have to take it down if no one provides the link. Rule 6

I don't use archive sites because I don't use Google, but here you go.

wait why are those two things linked?
I use CachyOS on PC, and GrapheneOS on mobile, and a VPN on both. so as long as Google requires an approved mobile device to scan the QR code, then I'm effectively banned from any site that uses recaptcha.
I'm not about to buy a new phone and sign up for a Google account just to use a website, all because a corporation wants to track me.
I'm guessing this is referring to Google's captcha service being use at Archive.today
Archive.Today starting to use Google's QR-based reCaptcha

What does Google have to do with archive sites?
they use recaptcha. that now requires a Google approved mobile device for anyone using a custom ROM or accessing the site using Linux or a VPN. I use CachyOS on PC and GrapheneOS on mobile, and a VPN on both, so I'm effectively banned from any of the Archive sites from now on, until our unless they stop using Google.
He says it at the 31 second mark
Thanks, that's good.
Thanks for requiring a clip or source. It’s easy for anyone to slap text on a picture and claim it as truth or “just a joke”.
Thanks , I can't listen to him ramble. My hand uncontrollably goes on my forehead and I get embarrassed that almost half of Americans voted for this fucker.
~22% of the population voted for him. Yeah, that's still too much, but it isn't anywhere close to a majority
*60%
277 million Americans were 18 or older in 2024. 77 million voted for Trump. That's ~27%.
Maybe so, but almost 40% of the population thinks he's doing a good job.
He has no intention of leaving after 2028. He's not building that ballroom for some Democrat, or anyone else. That's his.
We need to have a major open national discussion about how we would handle such a situation, so that they know that he can't just pull Maduro, and just ignore the results of elections, and remain in the Royal Palace.
He needs to know that if he attempts to stay, there will be a march on the White House, and everyone inside will be executed, and the building burned to the ground. If we have go that far, we're re-starting from scratch.
He will be in office in 2028 though
That's what I was thinking, unless he gets impeached or kicks the bucket he'll hold office until January 2029.
Trump never lies about what he wants to do. He always lies about his accomplishments.
He’s not lying. That’s exactly what he wants to do.
Does he seriously think he'll live till 2032?
This isn't corruption. A few steps beyond it really....
Lol. You know what Donny. I'm fairly sure you won't be around in 2032.
I'll wait to cure aging, just for him.
Let’s go Big Macs 🙏
He's joking guys like the joke about Venezuela! Or the Joke about ICE. He uses jokes or light hearted comments to soften the impact of terrible actions to gauge public reaction? No it's just jokes guys!
Fuck Americans for letting this asshole win a second time.
And they’ll let him win a third time too. There will be complaining and social media posts, but I won’t be remotely surprised when he doesn’t leave office.
Please no! I can't take a third round of "people should know what Trump said".
Yeah, I can get the first time to a degree (still think he’s a pos). But seriously, seeing his first regime, who the fuck would vote for him a second and potentially third time??
We have a large portion of the population that is undereducated, which leads to lack of critical thinking skills and media illiteracy. Unfortunately we also have a large population in the south that is brainwashed by Christian nationalism, which the Republicans gladly pander to. These people are lied to on a daily basis by nothing short of propaganda in our news media.
I believe that people latch onto him because he has very simplistic messaging that they can understand. They are told and believe that he is good and will help them and the country’s economy. That or they’re downright racist and just want immigrants to be deported.
This coupled with our somewhat rigged electoral college system causes things like this to happen in our country. Many of us don’t like it and would like the electoral college to be abolished. However, the Republicans know that without it they would never win, so it stays. Our largest population centers ALWAYS lean heavily Democrat. The “land” that votes in our federal elections would never stand a chance without the EC.
I don’t really understand how one persons vote can be less important than someone else’s who lives in a rural area. But yeah, I know. In smart, educated centres, the democrats lead. It’s only the uneducated people they vote for repubes. Crazy to think
If there’s one thing those kind of people excel at, it’s being told exactly what to do.
I’d love if we could have ranked choice and/or just purely popular vote. But yeah as it stands the lower population states get extra points in federal elections for “fairness.” This is how Trump won the first time; he lost the popular vote but still won the election. That wasn’t the case the second time, but it still doesn’t make much sense that that can happen.
For these three reasons alone, I consider it highly likely that this regime will now abandon even the pretense of democracy and establish a true autocracy:
- ICE has a larger budget than all U.S. federal agencies combined. This budget is equivalent to the military spending of a medium-sized country. It is clearly a secret police force.
- Given the serious crimes they have already committed, all members of the cabinet would likely face criminal prosecution under a new administration—even within the completely dysfunctional U.S. legal system. They will not let it come to that.
- Coups d’état have no criminal consequences in the U.S., at least for conservatives, as evidenced by the fact that no one actually responsible was prosecuted during the last coup attempt—even the foot soldiers are all back on the loose.
This is a crossing the Rubicon moment for Trump. The entire maga apparatus understands that at least the pretense of consequences await them if another group takes over, that includes people who have been fired or left. It happened to them the last time. They know this time the other side is getting voted in on consequences, and they know the other side knows they have a year or two post election to do it, or else they already risk getting wiped out in the midterms just like the situation that republicans find themselves in now.
It's life or death right now for a lot of members of this admin, and they are gonna act like that. Good luck us.
Given the serious crimes they have already committed, all members of the cabinet would likely face criminal prosecution under a new administration—even within the completely dysfunctional U.S. legal system.
I'm not holding my breath. It would be great if I'm wrong, but my bingo card has the next admin proclaiming "now is the time for healing and unity, not vengeance" instead of actually enforcing the consequences that are supposed to come with actions.
They do have a history of giving clemency to those who try to destroy the will of the people so this would be a predictable outcome.
Instead of the chop chop required.
You know? I'm starting to think that November doesn't matter at all.
I mean: we already know that the current administration can openly ignore judges without any consequence. So: what is anyone going to do if after November, the pedoparty loses all their seats but they simply ignore the results and stay in power? Who's gonna arrest them? Who's gonna enforce the judge ruling saying that X or Y won that seat and the pedopolitician in question should be removed from it?
I don't think right now the US has the spine to start a civil war and, frankly, you are gonna need it. It's about time you realize your legal system and your judges are worth shit if the people enforcing the laws and rulings are in bed with the ones breaking the law.
In the scenario you're talking about, that would be the moment when US democracy is definitively in the can, beyond hope of recovery by conventional means. That would be the right time to overthrow the administration by any means necessary. But yeah I really wonder if even then there would be enough collective spine to make it happen. Every effort will be made to muddy the waters. The vote will be rigged wherever possible. The white house will announce a resounding success. Most news outlets will parrot this line. From some democrats there will be "deep concern" about how the elections were handled. There will be calls for an immediate investigation. Some investigations will take place and there will be findings and condemnations, which ultimately have no effect. But the cumulative message will always be : "now is not the time"
Keep in mind they have the power to purge voter registries wherever and whenever they want, red states have enacted laws to allow them to reject voting outcomes, it's already been shown that if they throw enough of the results to courts it gets dragged out and thrown out, ultimately getting to the scotus where with a con-majority there is no doubt what they'd do.
But with his own personal fascist army via ICE, plus whatever parts of the military are perfectly cool murdering children and civilians, not to mention all the other dickless chuds in his cult...he'd turn them out in a heartbeat
