"We did it, Patrick! We made a technological breakthrough!"

A place for all those who loathe AI to discuss things, post articles, and ridicule the AI hype. Proud supporter of working people. And proud booer of SXSW 2024.

AI, in this case, refers to LLMs, GPT technology, and anything listed as "AI" meant to increase market valuations.

Somebody gave this fuckin machine a store and $21K USD. Me and so many people I know could have done so goddamn much with that amount of money, instead they let it bankrupt itself on napkins and tomatoes for its coffee shop.

with so many AI startup conventions going around, im betting most of them if not all fail, just to keep the VC money coming in for the main AI companies,.

I started my business with $0 and an $800 computer. Lack of resources means you have to be resourceful.

What kind of business? Not trying to claim I don't believe you, just curious what other people are up to. I technically run a business myself on a computer probably worth less than that, but I'm the only employee, I just use it to save money on taxes as a software engineering contractor (I really should be building a new PC since it's tax-free, but I'm currently saving up for home repairs and a company car to mostly replace my personal car)
