If you're not meant to dabble in addiction, why are there rehabs?

[–] Stefan_S_from_H@piefed.zip 12 points 4 hours ago (3 children)

Strange rules and no country mentioned. I'm guessing it's about the USA.

[–] ByteJunk@lemmy.world 8 points 4 hours ago

Most countries prohibit sales of alcohol to minors, and when in doubt, the seller must ask for a form of ID. In the US, this is almost always a driver's license, since there's no national id card and state id isn't mandatory AFAIK - people will use that though if they don't have a driver's license for some reason.

In the US you can purchase alcohol with the use of a government issued ID card, drivers license, passport, or active duty military ID as all are government issued IDs which display ones age.

I don't know, man. Based on the language of the meme and the triangle on the guy's shirt, at first I thought of Bermuda.

And they keep building cars with cup holders.

[–] darkdemize@sh.itjust.works 21 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

"Cup holder" implies that you're setting your drink down. The drink must remain in your hand at all times, otherwise it's a party foul.

That’s why port is a travelling beverage.

[–] bitjunkie@lemmy.world 35 points 7 hours ago

Gas is 10% ethanol. Even the car is having a roadie, and I'm supposed to what exactly

c/americanshitpost?

[–] stickyprimer@lemmy.world 2 points 3 hours ago

You don’t. My first fake id was someone’s old military id.

[–] plantfanatic@sh.itjust.works 19 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

Passport or just an id card work as well.

[–] TheTechnician27@lemmy.world 44 points 7 hours ago (2 children)

So will a ski mask and a weapon. Discourse is always so car-centric smh

[–] kn33@lemmy.world 8 points 7 hours ago

[–] nexguy@lemmy.world 7 points 7 hours ago

But also illegal to drink and commit armed robbery so... same problem.

[–] Themosthighstrange@lemmy.world 6 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

Back in the 80s they had drive thrus where you could by alcoholic slushies

[–] Siethron@lemmy.world 5 points 5 hours ago

Pretty sure drive-thru dackeries are still a thing on Bourbon Street in New Orleans

[–] hOrni@lemmy.world 8 points 7 hours ago

Damn right I drink and drive. My car, my rules.

[–] bandwidthcrisis@lemmy.world 4 points 6 hours ago

And drive-thru liquor stores.

[–] stupidcasey@lemmy.world 1 points 4 hours ago

Technically the drivers license is a field sobriety test, you have to be at least drunk enough to operate a motor vehicle under the influence before you can buy alcohol, they sometimes have you breath in an exhaust pipe if they think you are really sober.

[–] LodeMike@lemmy.today 1 points 5 hours ago* (last edited 5 hours ago)

You don't. You need a state ID. Most people just happen to have a drivers license.

[–] HikingVet@lemmy.ca 2 points 7 hours ago

You don't though. I've never had a license yet I can get booze.
