Is Platner a great candidate? No.

Is he better than Collins? Almost certainly.

A Heritage Foundation hit piece is a ringing endorsement as far as I'm concerned.

I especially enjoyed the part about how this adult presented a diary entry she wrote 'from 2016' as her evidence.

No one if going to get a Berkeley California style liberal elected in Maine. The people there historically vote for purple candidates.

The most liberal candidate will be bluer shade of purple, that caucuses with the Dems, and makes it harder for the GOP to get a majority and to control the senator.

No one if going to get a Berkely, California style liberal elected in Maine.

Bruh California can't get a Berkely style liberal elected in Berkely.

The amount of money being used to flood the airways with any scandal about Platner in Maine is atrocious. The political institution is afraid of an oyster farmer.

They are REALLY scared of Platner taxing them, huh?

Looks like Kyle mentions it too

Democrats "This is a moral scandal!"

Republicans "Yeah, Platner didn't try to fuck a child."

Here is her bio. It reads like political character assassination is her career.

From Reddit:

She also edited her blog on 5/7/2026 at 23:16:18 GMT. You can check this for yourself here. Her website is https://www.lyndseyfifield.com/

Interestingly, the blog's last post (before editing) was 5/19/2015. So, she (presumably) went in to edit a blog website that hadn't been touched in over a decade while she was discussing things with the New York Times.

If one uses the Wayback Machine, you see that 2 posts were deleted between 3/8/2026 and 5/7/2026 (presumably on 5/7/2026). One is a self promotion post from 2017 touting her new podcast. The other is from the same period as her claimed diary entry (2016). In the now deleted blog post Lyndsey strikes a very different tone from the purported diary entry.

It seems too much of a coincidence that the blog that hadn't been touched in a decade magically get's edited as she's speaking with the NY Times about an ex-boyfriend from the time when the blog was active.

So, Fifield had personal motivation (spurned ex), political motivation (she's GOP through and through) and financial motivation (this will surely elevate her GOP career).

Huh, makes you think.
