Unfortunately, we have already paid for 16 of them. But we should stop there.

It will certainly be a reduced fleet.
How reduced is what matters. The full fleet order was 88, and the article reports various sources as saying we will still be ordering between 72 to 88. So, if the reporting is accurate, it's not anything like the extent of reduced fleet order many Canadians were expecting.
Yeah phase that shit out. Sell them to Iran or something.
According to various sources, the federal government would still be looking at a fleet of 72 to 88 F-35s, even if it moves forward with the Gripen.

So you're telling me the world's second largest country needs more than a handful of jets to protect its airspace and can't rely entirely on the permanent benevolence of others? I am shocked, shocked! ... well, not that shocked.
Better teach the Gripens to shoot down the F35s.
Canada and Sweden must invest more into gripen R&D to keep maga out.
There should be at least 150 Gripen in my option.
