I mean, the main reason they love it is because they can implement big brother and skynet; remotely genocide every undesirable they please and enslave what remains... oh, and rape kids!
They're incompetence is infinite though, so they'll most likely create a terminator grade "judgement day" extinction level event. If you haven't realized it yet, this century is when we discover the great filter; why there aren't any detectable civilizations.

This is nothing new with AI, it is just that now AI is stripping not only natural resources but also facts, news, privacy and independent thought.
Which to be fair, is also nothing new with AI, but the scale is new. And it is fucking insane.
