So grand, this old party...
This has to be some sort of masochism, right?
the "unity" they want is just for themselves to 'unite' against everyone else. if they splinter, they would lose.
Even if he converted it probably wouldn't be enough
I don't want him in my party either ,watering it down. Once a religious nutjob always a religious nutjob.
Fuck all conservatives no matter the religion
But I’ll guarantee, if they get power, they’ll cut your head off as believers of Christ,” he said.
Well, this guy is an idiot, and he probably doesn't care, but as "people of the book", Muslims tend to value xtians over, say, atheists.
Islam is not compatible with western society/values. You can see this very well in germany, where even the left-leaning mainstream media sloooooowly starts acknowledging the issues that come with islamic parallel societies. I absolutely cannot understand why leftists so vehemently defend Islam when this religion has values which are the literal OPPOSITE of what leftists fight for. This is not racism, this is not Islamophobia, it's plain facts that Islam has a lot of problems.
I have no Idea what he was thinking.
Anti-abortion.
After reading the article. The Republicans aren't necessarily wrong with their concerns about Sharia Law. They just need to look in a mirror.
And he probably shouldn't have admitted this, to be honest when he said:
He was practicing Sharia at that very moment,
Kind of implies he has no issue with Sharia Law being imposed.
This is certainly a take, so Imma ask you to further clarify your positions:
What concerns raised about the law's "incompatibility with Judeo-Christian values" are worth listening to?
Also, the last sentence is an especially stinky take: people are allowed to impose discipline on themselves without demanding others follow the same (like gyms and diets).

The issue isn't that they are compatable, it's that both Judeo-Christian values and Shria Law are two sides of the same coin. Religious restrictions imposed on others.

Not saying they can't. The framing that that he's practicing Sharia law wasn't the best thing to say in response to the allegations. He could have said, "Sharia Law doesn't require A,B,C." Instead, he said made a general claim about lies and how he is currently practicing Sharia law, further validating the criticism against him.
