What happened to the tank guy in Tiananmen square?
After climbing on the tank a few times, and talking with the tank commander, he was eventually lead away by some other onlookers completely unharmed.
Also, if I recall correctly, the incident occurred when the tanks were leaving and he was actually upset about the riots.

Just a few examples(out of many) of US state forces running over protestors in the last couple of years:
Kent State actually was what they pretend Tiananmen Square was, but most USians are not ready for that conversation.
Climbed up the tank. Said hi to the tank operator. Climbed down. Got escorted out by student protesters.
Standoff, lil' dance, mans climbs on the tank then gets off. The tankers open some hatches and there's some sort of conversation, then some people from the (presumed, offscreen) crowd run in and move him away.
Pretty obvious that the civilians are surprisingly unafraid of the war machines and the soldiers, and conversely the soldiers aren't acting afraid of the crowd
