Are the first nations the only ones who can truly oppose these kinds of projects? Eby in BC said he couldn't stop something like the pipeline as it was outside is power.
Obviously people can make a fuss as well, but i mean actual proper power to stop it?
Edit: at least for parts that would pass through their lands anyway.
My understanding is that pipelines are federal jurisdiction, so there's very little the provinces can do if push comes to shove. I'm not super well-versed on the subject, though.
