I...Humbly fail to understand how the BRAIN DEAD CEO of that company doesn't see the wild pivot this is. If they manage to succeed and get access to children, this will be a petri dish of absolute hell. Looking at those dolls, their dead, souless eyes...I can't see this ending well in the slightest. It will harm young minds, as humans need real people to educate them. Not these robotic corpses.
I have to assume this is just a clever attempt to advertise their product to people outside what their algorithm hits.
Gotta be a whole market of rich old guys who don't go on the internet and never expected to be alive during the robot sex era.
It's really fucking weird, it doesn't feel clever to me personally. They might really want to get into a secondary business as there is big money in data collection and they'd be able to tap a market which has been historically off the table: Children.
You are right though, there are probably a lot of rich old guys that are desperate for any kind of outlet for their sexual frustration, because real women (or men) can immediately read their vibe and bid them good-bye! The robot sex era is a crazy, but potentially inevitable thing because lonely dudes with zero game are a lucrative market to exploit.
I don't think clever and weird are mutually exclusive here unfortunately.

Maybe, its working...Doesn't mean it isn't cursed as fuck though. I'd really hate for a company with an "AI" pivot to actually succeed as that would be nasty. At the end of the day, people crave novelty of all kinds, even the bad weird kind. So they are leveraging that and this tactic might work. I don't have to like it though.

My point was they're bluffing. They dont' expect to be allowed in schools. This is pure "all publicity is good publicity."

As they will certainly get a lot of press because of the level of insanity and bizarre that goes with something like this. That will in turn boost their sales.

Mmm, yeah, if it were just a sex toy company it would literally be a whatever from me. As people deserve to get their rocks off in whatever safe and sane way that works for them. However, to deliberately be on a mission to create something that...Emulates the human experience, that could be made to wear custom skins of celebrities or people that you wanna...Do the deed with, without the humanity associated with it. It's certainly unhinged with a scoop of deranged. They are also adding AI into the mix which is just asking for some serious ChatGPT psychosis cases to start cropping up!
