He only ever appeared left because he hired a bunch of young people to run his campaign.
As soon as he was elected he stopped appearing to be progressive because he either fired his election staff or they quit when they realized who he really was.
Before he was a senator he was a mayor of a small town in the middle of PA and held a black man at gunpoint because the man was going for a run in the town he was mayor of.

No need to rewrite history to fit the current narrative: as mayor, he was rather left leaning, even though he used questionable tactics. The problem is when you go to Washington, a lot more money is involved. He's just easy to corrupt.

this is why there needs to be a recall mechanism for congress and senators. Dude ran as a Democrat and is now saying "haha, Ima go be a republican now" and all the people who voted for him can do nothing for 6 fucking years.
Our representatives should be afraid when they don't represent us. Organize and give public servants reasons to resign when they betray their electorate. And if they don't like that, they can make a law that allows for recalls. Not sure if there are many other ways to get that law passed

Man. Brain damage did a number of him. Gabby Gifford was shot in the head and didn't turn conservative
I've seen comments from people in his constituency that said the stroke didnt change shit, that he's always been a piece of shit, even before he was in public office.
Because he was already a shitbags before his stroke. The stroke just made it harder for him to hide his power level.
Fetterman was just a rich kid who's daddy's money has backed his entire career. His dad is the owner and CEO of an insurance company and is a long time big Republican donor. Fettermans entire career has been faking blue collar credentials while being an asshole contrarian.
When he was mayor he raised prices for locals by turning his town into a vacation town for his rich friends. He also held a random black jogger at gun point because he suspected him of doing a crime. His constituents and coworkers hated him.
As Lt governor he barely showed up to work and missed one third of the mandatory state Senate sessions he was supposed to oversee. The guy has always been a lazy asshole, the stroke just made it come to the surface.

If polling is anything to go by, the vast majority are rabid fascists. But you are technically correct, there is a minority.
You always have to ask who controls the polls, and how afraid are people to tell the truth. We've seen it here in the states. Polling orgs have stopped, changed metrics, or done selective polling when they are controlled by the fascists. Even small things like question verbiage can change a decisive "we hate this guy" into a "opinions are mixed".
Haaretz poll from a year ago shows 82% of Israelis are in favor of ethnically cleansing Gaza. And check out this verbiage:
Nearly half (47 percent) of respondents agreed that "when conquering an enemy city, the Israel Defense Forces should act as the Israelites did in Jericho under Joshua's command – killing all its inhabitants."

I had this friend back in high-school. His dad's name was Gerald. He was a 6 ft 5 350lbs guy who was a con man. He wore different kinds of beret hats and had thin glasses with a extended goatee. His words were slick and his tongue was quick. He drove a decommissioned Lincoln under cover police cruiser and never stayed at one job.
He was the type to steal 10g from laundry vending machines and word in a way that his son did some of the time for him.
This man conned his son outta $1,000 by saying it was for presents for his brother only to find out that he and his wife spent it on crack.
Fettermen reminds me of that man if he had gotten into politics. A con artists white man whose a piece of shit but acts like he's the salt of the earth.
