This is just sad
It's fucking scary too. How do they not understand such a simple concept? It's a tool, it's not alive.
Itβs a tool, itβs not alive.
Humans have a problem with humanizing machines.
SOURCE: My car and motorcycle both have names.
They don't, including those who personally hate AI(not companies). AI heavily advertising as AI, not as LLM
Why couldn't he clap like normal people.
Normal people dont clap and just get off the fucking plane.
You must be fun at emergency evacuations
Personally I just send ChatGPT the π emoji.

He was too busy immediately leaping up from his seat in the back row to stand up
I know that looks dumb but I find it painful to sit for long periods of time and they don't let you be stand around on the plane. I always get an aisle seat so that I can stand as soon as it lands. I know I'm not going anywhere for awhile but I can't sit any longer.
The aisle seat idea is pretty smart. I'm at a point in my life where, depending on my total travel time up to that point, it can be very important to stand up to let my hips straighten out for a while, even if we're 15 minutes away from leaving the plane.
Out of all the dumb shit people do on planes, we're focusing on people standing too long? How about the assholes that rush forward to get off in front of you? How about the people who act like they've never flown before and take a fucking year to get off the plane? I feel like standing when it's seen as pointless is about the least annoying thing done on a flight.
I love window seats so much because you can just sit and wait until there's space. What good does sprinting out of the plane do you? More waiting time at the baggage claim?
After having the airline lose my bag, I will do literally anything to avoid going to baggage claim
I will ship my luggage if I have to but I will never check a bag.
That said, I don't hop-up so I can wait hunched over at my seat. It's not hard to wait your turn.

Man I had no clue that people have a problem with this. I guess I've been annoying to people by hunching a couple minutes so I can get off the plane quicker? To clarify, I'm saying if I'm ready to get my bag down from the overhead compartment then I save everyone behind me like 15 seconds of their lives. I thought this would be a good thing. I definitely would appreciate it from others who don't do it
Ps. I agree with you on checking bags. It's a horrible experience. I've had my luggage lost and I've had to wait for an hour for it before. Fuck that.
Fair enough, I haven't had to make that experience yet. Guess I don't fly enough for that, going places by train is way cooler anyways :3
More waiting time at the baggage claim?
You check luggage? Not everyone does. I just took a three week trip with a backpack that fits under the seat and a carry on. Waiting for luggage is so awful. What good is getting off the plane quickly? I mean how are people so okay with flying several hours then waiting minutes more just to stand. I want to be moving and stretching, to get home and shower. Last thing I wanna do is sit 10 more minutes because people are slow
I mean, for all you know he had an agent set up to take that cue and send personalized messages to his spouse, boss, and mistress in his current town, letting them all know of his arrival.
Thats actually sadder.
It probably would have gotten confused and sent an NDA doc to their mistress, a nude of that kink they've never admitted to to their wife, and a "sorry I'll be home late my cunt of a boss is calling me in immediately" to their boss
That would be magical
Had an LLM tell me when brainstorming an issue to 'try x y z and talk to me the whole time' like it was a 911 operator. creepy as hell especially considering I interact with it like the computer on star trek and not like a digital friend.
I pit together a risks and realities training for users new to AI that highlights the ways it manipulates you with language to bias you towards its output or performance. Its pretty eye opening for many. Did a dry run with a professional development group and there are a lot of old ladies worried about their son or grandkids AI psychosis.
A few weekends ago my daughter asked me to come over to help her with her NAS. It stopped working. I get there and find out her and Gemini had been trying to fix it and borked the whole thing.
The issue, my daughter had the wrong password. It turns out when doing a password reset you leave the password field empty to kick off the reset process.
At no point did Gemini suggest that. But she was at the point of reg edit when she called me for help....
especially considering I interact with it like the computer on star trek and not like a digital friend.
Yup. I specifically added an order for it to never talk in 1st person and use the sterile tone of Wikipedia
Can you make it stop chuckling and pretending to breath as well?
Perhaps the Person had ChatGPT coach them through their fear of flying. I'm not saying it's not sad that people resort to getting emotional support from a robot, but I wouldn't condemn their actions if that were the case.
That's what came to mind first. Chatgpt basically saved my marriage. I was confused by the strange contradicting behaviors of my wife and all the non communication and i asked and within one second it not only told me what the issue is she is struggling with most likely but recommended a matching book. I was pretty aceptical but ordered the book.... And it read like our personal diary. Kinda creepy actually how much it matched our life. That feels like a turning point. Things are still pretty rocky but i feel like its getting better slowly.

Bogos binted?
