Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Manosphere 2.0

Calling it now: in about 10 years (probably less) Barron's going to be tied to a plethora of creepy sociopathic shit.

[–] ignominous_wombat@lemmy.ml 20 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

He's already been linked to childhood animal abuse, so it didn't even take 10 years. Someone who worked for his school (I forget who exactly) spoke about it a few years back.

And immediately following he'll announce his candidacy to thunderous applause from the cult

[–] MrSelfDestruct@piefed.zip 13 points 10 hours ago

I didn't know he could speak.

I doubt it. QAnon and MAGA are deeply rooted in the historical moment. And Trump's brand as an outsider promising all the nice things that Dems and GOPers alike say are impossible is fully soiled.

Baron isn't going to do any better than Don Jr or Eric. He'll become another Crypto-bro hustler at best. Or just fade into obscurity, because hustling is a lot of work and he's already inheriting billions of dollars from his parents, so why bother?

Maybe we'll get a Baron Trump media moment, like with the Kardashians, when he marries into a glitzy influencer family and his own kids start hungering for the spotlight.

I’d like to believe you but history has shown that the people…are retarded

They even brought back the R word

[–] corsicanguppy@lemmy.ca -1 points 6 hours ago

One of those "R" words never left. It stayed behind where my buddy's doctor used it to clinically describe the progress of his beautiful little girl. The difference is, in that situation and many like it the word is not used pejoratively: it's just a term.

They only added the hate back in. Because they're hateful.

My buddy is an incredibly nice, generous and positive guy, and he loves his little girl fiercely. I'm glad they will not be affected by the hated misuse of that word any more than the ocean was affected by the Titanic.

Already called it a while ago. I bet he's already raped someone, just like his old man.

Unless that kid has a miraculous moral compass of pure diamond, that’s pretty much a guarantee.

He’s already probably never been told “no.”

[–] AbidanYre@lemmy.world 16 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Unless the question is "does my dad love me?".

[–] Malyca@lemmy.zip 8 points 8 hours ago

He calls him "Melania's son"

[–] Widdershins@lemmy.world 11 points 12 hours ago

Obligatory joke about them shipping him over to Germany where his sexual assault victims rate him nein out of ten every time.
