Again, another post celebrating that I’m on the blocklist and Charlie Kirk isn’t.

[–] db2@lemmy.world 36 points 8 hours ago (2 children)

He's not saying anything about it though. 🤔

[–] ImgurRefugee114@reddthat.com 28 points 7 hours ago (2 children)

Really proud of him for toning down the rhetoric. Guy hasn't said a racist thing since he last went viral.

[–] felsiq@piefed.zip 17 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

Fr, he’s never been more tolerable

[–] ImgurRefugee114@reddthat.com 15 points 7 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago) (1 children)

Yeah. Believe it or not, when I saw him last, he was leaning left.

[–] db2@lemmy.world 9 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

And wearing his heart on his sleeve. And his collar. And his chest. And the ground.

[–] cavitationfetishist2@quokk.au 3 points 4 hours ago

That's more his neck.

I bet he was gushing to say something, but now? quiet.

[–] Rocketpoweredgorilla@lemmy.ca 6 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

I get like that too sometimes.. you get really excited and amped up over something, but then afterwards you just feel drained and dead tired.

[–] crazycraw@crazypeople.online 6 points 7 hours ago (2 children)

when Im that tired, sometimes I like taking a nap in the dirt.

Is lemmy turning into reddit or something? I just see bits and pieces of this drama, don't really care enough to deep dive in it.. but found out I'm on the "list".

[–] volore@scribe.disroot.org 49 points 8 hours ago* (last edited 8 hours ago)

no, someone tried to turn it into Reddit using their frontend to try and act like an admin on instances they're not an admin on, acting like an entitled reddit powermod/admin doling out shadowbans; and the fediverse collectively told him to fuck himself.

Most people, I'd think, would consider thousands of other people yelling all at once telling you you've done a tremendously dumb thing, to be a fine moment for self-reflection. AdmiralPatrick is not one of those people.

[–] Bishma@discuss.tchncs.de 13 points 8 hours ago

The most dumbfounding thing to me is that the list isn't even base64 encoded. Its just sitting in the repo plain-text. I can't decided if its laziness, a lack of data integrity standards, lack of imagination, or if he wanted all this drama one day.

[–] cRazi_man@europe.pub 10 points 7 hours ago (2 children)

Frankly, my own block list is huge. Mostly keywords, very few users. I would recommend it to everyone. Any social media is unbearable without blocking shit out. Everyone should personalise blocklists to their tastes.

But you can't make this decision for people. This is why I also don't like that some instances defederate a lot of other instances they don't like (and no one tells newbies). There's a niche for pre-populated block lists that are available and curated and transparent (like for ad-blockers).

[–] Malyca@lemmy.zip 3 points 5 hours ago

Yeah I think sharing them is a great idea as long as people can opt in or out. Respect people's agency.

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@piefed.world 7 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

Rorschach was a principled man of strong morals I feel bad for everyone misunderstanding him.

[–] sundray@lemmus.org 6 points 5 hours ago

He's a great comic book character, but a lousy role model for "they'll beg me to save them, and I'll whisper 'no'" narcissists, unfortunately.

[–] TheStaffmaster@lemmy.world 4 points 7 hours ago (2 children)

I got here in june, I was on the list and that was the first I'd heard of that guy. What's his name again?

[–] Malyca@lemmy.zip 2 points 5 hours ago

I'm new too, also on the list. Guess cool kids now?

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 3 points 6 hours ago (1 children)
[–] TheStaffmaster@lemmy.world 2 points 5 hours ago

thank you but I was kind of being rhetorical. upvote for genuine helpfulness though!

[–] Doomsider@lemmy.world 1 points 5 hours ago

The whole world is wrong in a lot of ways. Just not this one.

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 5 points 8 hours ago

Just here to point out that GodlessCommie, the sole active mod of Late Stage Capitalism is one of these losers, making the sub his own personal crybaby safe space.
