Honestly, the way you become ungovernable is the same way the government becomes unaccountable to the people.

Passive hostility. Slow roll everything. Throw a wrench in every system you can. Stop at all stop signs and railroad tracks, and wait 3 seconds to confirm all other traffic has stopped. Make every request in writing, using snail mail, then call every day (or multiple times a day) to see if they got your requests. Demand everything communication to you is done in the slowest and most expensive way for them possible. File FOIA requests for everything. Cop pulls you over, take a while to find your license and registration. Become sludge, become a quagmire. Make anything and everything the government does to you a huge use of their time and effort. Embrace your inner old man "get off my lawn" energy.

To add to this, you can generate lists of likely emails of CEOs and yell at them and get free stuff. ATT gave me 6 free months and a free phone. They actually have to have done some bullshit, though. But channel your inner Karen. It's okay when you aim it at the C suite instead of the store manager.

Uncle Ted is a fun meme but individual action isn't a solution to systemic problems. His anarcho primitivist (I know he didn't claim the label, but c'mon) critiques are also founded on the flawed assumption that technology is the root of all evil. He harkens back to an idyllic past that never existed to justify his beliefs and actions. Sounds familiar, doesn't it? He's just leftist edgelord Elliot Rodgers. In terms of defense, this is how being ungovernable looks

Sorry but community gardening as a solution is one of the worst I've heard. It's very hard to achieve the same level of scale and efficiancy that large farms do with these small gardens. For instance, I see no machinery in this picture. Are we really wanting to go back to the days where farming is done by hand?

Sure it's good for the soul to get together and grow things but as a means to feed society it's just not viable.

Do you really think a small group of farmers is ungovernable? Peasant farmers have been exploited for pretty much the entire history of humanity!

Ungovernable means civil disobedience, it means sabotage. It does mean building community, but if your community only wants to farm, remember to pay the king after the harvest.

This kind of labour intensive farming is actually orders of magnitude more efficient (on an acres of land farmed basis) than mechanized industrialized farming.

But you are not entirely wrong that "community gardening" is insufficient, but good luck convincing anyone to engage in serious civil disobedience etc. when there is no alternative support network that can feed them while doing so.

I can believe that but I think the more important metric is labour hours vs food produced. Less labour and more food means more time for other activities.

A support network for civil disobedience can never exist. The state would shut it down immediatly. And yet disobedience must occur if the system is to truly change.

This is where we find ourselves. Destroy flock cameras. Don't get caught. Support Palestine Action. Don't get caught. Use what little time is available to fight back. But most importantly, don't get caught because no one else can afford to save you.

There are always people that have time to invest in low risk activities but can't invest them in high risk ones, usually because of dependents they need to take care off.

A support network for civil disobedience can never exist. The state would shut it down immediatly. And yet disobedience must occur if the system is to truly change.

Civil disobedience literally can't exist without a support network and there are plenty of examples where it has existed with the state doing little to nothing to prevent that. There are always ways to fly under the radar for such support networks.

Destroying flock cameras is not a bad idea, but it is largely inconsequential. Style over substance so to say.

I guess, but things like community gardens get people together, to communicate, share ideas and help each other out. Modern capitalism attempts to eradicate community and keep the individual alone, stuck inside, easily manageable and placated with tailored content online.

Building community seems like an important bit of defiance, even if it doesn't 'scale up to industrial levels'. It depends what your goal is here, and I don't think the 'goal' of community gardens was ever to feed an entire society.

Indeed. I can certainly see the benefits of this type of activity. I'm not saying it's a bad idea for mental health and a sense of community.

But we had better community in the past and still felt the crushing weight of capitalism. Fighting back means fighting back. Community gardening is the left side of the meme.

yeah, if you want a garden that has good yield, you need furrows not raised beds. my friend gordon had a small half acre farm/garden attached to his property (he was a horticulturist and that was his food field. the next half acre was his experimenting field).

also i just realized all my horticulture (soil science and farm) friends are either named gordon or toby. i'm starting to think there's some nominative determinism there because all the gordons and tobies i know are horticulture people.
