"We did it, Patrick! We made a technological breakthrough!"

A place for all those who loathe AI to discuss things, post articles, and ridicule the AI hype. Proud supporter of working people. And proud booer of SXSW 2024.

AI, in this case, refers to LLMs, GPT technology, and anything listed as "AI" meant to increase market valuations.

I can eat a cow, I can’t eat a data center.

Eating beef regularly, or any other red meat for that matter is unhealthier than white meat (chicken, fish). So yes, both of them consuming water is bad overall and both should be gotten rid off.

Agriculture as a whole plays a big part in pollution and wasting water. I personally think being able to get "out of season" foods is a huge waste of resources and extremely damaging to the ecosystem as a whole.

We had a really fucking bad year for crops in general, so bad even the hay died. And if you think about it, all that water was wasted just generating dead biomass. Which is worse than the usual over consumption concerns.

Idk where I'm going with this, so I'll just leave it at that.
