This is why I feel like AI companies operate at a loss
1- they gather training data,
2- if they wing it for 10 years people won't be able to extract information or do certain tasks without AI help

I work in plane manufacturing, the use of ai is prohibited except for looking up simple information regarding the company, majority of the employees won't be affected except for maybe the higher ups writing a report or some other shit.

Ai probably wrote that question. Whole load of words, but not understanding anything.
I might be an exception, but I do not enjoy using AI because I find the high possibility of hallucinations and misinformation quite repulsive. It's eerie and uncanny working with it, and I actively avoid using it apart from some development assistance. (Apart from all the ethical and environmental issues which are off-putting too)
I rarely use AI. When I do have to use it for something I end up doing extra work because I always have to check and correct it's output seeing as every one of them is a lying liar who lies.
It would affect my daily life as it would mean Fuck_AI and all its anti-AI memes would stop existing, too.

I'd say more like coffee. If you drink it every day, you are addicted and legit cannot work without it. But it does keep you focused when in a crunch. As for LLMs, they does have their uses, but they do not produce quality software.

The only place I knowingly and intentionally use AI is only at work and only code reviews (it's policy). I could 100% live without that, though I'd need to badger my coworkers. Unless AI is shoved in something else I'm unaware of, I'm not using it.
