It's not even about Semitic cultures though (and it's not even a used term in the modern era), it's about hating on a nation fucking people up. It doesn't matter what that nation's called, and people aren't thinking about the race of people within it.
It's like trying to say I'm racist toward black people or an Islamaphobe because I disagree with Boko Haram.
Evil people desperately need the story to simplify down to religion vs. religion, how else would they justify their violence?
