Incredible.
I can't think of a single person I wouldn't have to explain the joke to.

How many layers does it have?
As many as an ogre.
Uh, none? It's a joke about burgueoise being pronounced similar to burger + pussy. That's evident. And that Karl Marx wasn't a fan of the burgueoise is well known too unless you love somewhere where history is banned for some reason.
Unless they are also making the joke about ending anything with -ussy, but that's not even anything to unpack since they explicitly call out pussies.
Seven of Nine people agree that Borgussy is bangin'.
Oops, this isn't !tenforward@lemmy.world
I'll show myself out.

I would definitely go to town on that borgussy.
actually marx would disagree with the first part too. according to him, burghers weren't that awesome
That's what Bourgeoisie means anyhow.
Still the word for it in swedish, Borgare.
It's funny, we also just straight up call economic right wingers here Borgare, pains me to no end that we apparently have 0 negative associations for that word.
I could never imagine an english speaker proudly calling themselves bougie, it's like calling yourself a dicatator.

Could that be because one of your parties adopted that word?
In any case, words have different connotations in different languages. In German, the word BĂŒrger just means member of society. However, if you use the French word bourgeois as an adjective it has a negative connotation. Actually, the adjective bĂŒrgerlich often also has a negative connotation, but not always and not as strong as bourgeois.
I love this
