I wish it were fall vacation, and normalized for even adults (around the world, not just as a job benefit for some but as a fact of life) to take at least a month off somewhere between late August and the end of October. That's peak time to go outside and enjoy the changing weather, perfect temperature for a light jacket, enjoy the scenery with all the trees changing colors, etc -- the middle of summer's just too fucking hot, now. You're either boiling alive in the sun or it's pissing rain, and no in-between. It'd probably do wonders for the average person's mental health, and air quality/the environment, too, if everyone just took a month off around the same time each year and it was just a thing you were expected to have.

Buuuuut line must go up and we've got pumpkin spice lattes to sell, so.

I don’t like summer or dislike winter for the temperature. What I do hate is the short fucking days in winter. I despise it. It’s literally the only thing that makes me consider moving to a shitty southern state so I can actually have sunlight to a reasonable hour. Dark at 6AM and dark at 4:30PM. The entire part of the day I can use and see without artificial light is consumed by indoor work. I’ll tolerate the heat for an extra ~4 hours of light.

Depends on your latitude and weather/sea patterns.

The Caribbean has some nice moderate temperatures all year long, but nasty hurricanes. Seasonally it doesn't change that much.

As you head to the north and south extremes, winters are brutal and you don't get much daytime.

For the mid and south US, it's miserable outside

My family moved almost every summer when I was a kid. I've hated the season since I was old enough to make friends

....Nah. Id say I personally like it. Even with the annoying gnats and mosqutoes and wasps and the sweaty conditions. I hate cold seasons because I have difficulty getting and staying warm. During the summer that isnt a problem.

Central coast of CA, it’s an amazing time. Warm during day but well under 90, cools down at night perfect blend

In the South, summer is like living inside of a wet sock.

And it was time off because all the kids were kept at home for helping on the farm in summer. School teachers gave up and closed school. That turned into vacationing time.

Really depends, if youre sitting in a pool with a few beers or not. Living in a condo like a rat i basically skipped summers. Hate to share public places who litter and either themselves or their dog pees or poos in the place.

Get a garden and it's fun again. I know it's not possible for everyone but condo life is, for me, inhumane.

I hated summer as a kid. I liked school better. Home life sucked. If I wasnt getting screamed at inside, I was getting screamed at out doing farm work. so much goddamn farm work in the summers.

Fall was my favorite growing up, back to school meant no more farm work.

Now I love summers. I like fall still, but winter makes me sad, so end of summer sucks. Closing down my garden is my least favorite time of the year.
