Moderator Guidelines
Moderator Guidelines
- Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
- Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
- When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
- Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
- Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
- Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
- Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
- Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
- Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
- Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
- Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
- Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
- First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
- Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
- No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
- Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
- Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.
thanks ~
I remember when I used to drink Monsters before it donkey-kicked my health one day.
I also remember wondering similar(she did not, she was a pick-me, besides the point).
I cannot think or even smell a Monster without thinking about the alcoholic version of it though. Smells and tastes near identical to each other.
Schlaf Gut! (you probably already are asleep two hours later)
God I miss original 4loko
It sounds wild. I wish I could have tried it but I wasn't drinking a lot of canned alcohol during that brief period.
I miss the old Energy+ Vitamin Water. It was so bitter! Like they didn't use to put any sugar in it, it was like drinking straight up crushed guarana
nono im awake still.. will eepy sleepy soon tho.
... do you have to mention that germaniac stuff every time? this isn't reddit, we don't need to guten tag at each other all the time. we can just be peeps on blahaj lemmy.
i of course hope that she does like me buuuuut who knows. signs, even if they appear obvious can be meant very differently than intended. soooooooo imma have to see. whateverwhatever--
do you have to mention that germaniac stuff every time?
I can refrain from my German towards you if you wish, it is meant with full genuineness though, that was the informal similar to the use of hallo. I do not know what is done on Reddit but I can likely safely assert my use is meant much differently.
And hopefully so! It is difficult to read signs, and sometimes even more difficult to read when someone actually does say something, since like you said, things can be meant very differently than intended. I will say though, it is much better to pop the question and get a response, and build from what is said, than to ponder what could be the case. The former progress can be made(and comes with its own challenges at times), the latter you are just spinning tires.
I understand these to be trans soda. But why sugar free in particular? Jenny Nicholson said aspartame has like this distinctive warm "bite" to it but I figured that was just her particular niche tastes. Is it the same for trans women?
I personaly really like sugar replacements aspecialy if they are combined with sugar itself itgives a more full and rounded sugar taste for me personaly :)
Okay, so this is a thing with a precedent 🤔 thanks for weighing in too!
this was just the first one i ever had. it's okay, it's fine. it does have a nice sourness to it but eh nothing special.
(i'm not sure where you were going with the comment honestly... am a bit confussled)
Sorry, it's not related to your description text. I just see the soda a lot in memes and I wanted to know you or anyone else's take on why this one.
oooooh the strawberry one? wellll the strawberry one is piiiink and its got swirls on it and its got a reasonably realistic strawberry taste and it only exists in the ultra-zero-sugar variant so ther is no regular sugar variant.
its pink and red kinda which makes it fun to look at, its similar to the regular white ultra buuuut its strawberry. its nice! its good. to me, its one of the best when I wanna have a good but easy to drink thing. its not harsh which is nice but its sour enough to remind you that strawberries are a bit sour. yeeee thats my judgement on it.
Good enough for me. Now I know.
There are a few pink flavors. Punch Monster Pipeline Punch for example has flowers on the bottle. And might be (one of) the oldest pink flavor available where I live. (Like with any product flavor, availibility varies by region)
