and if its a "big" burger, its wider, not taller. You don't make a burger bigger by making it taller. This is only for chefs who look like they got dumped from chopped and couldnt make it as a hair dresser in Brooklyn.

It makes me sad every time I remember how big the standard Whataburger used to be. Almost the size of a personal pan pizza.

I think that's what bums me out about no longer visiting the US: the amazing food found in the most unremarkable places.
A bbq burger joint in a carpark off a freeway. A random mexican place next to a laundromat. Hell even your mcdonalds tastes better

Because of the HFC they load everything with "over there", which isn't allowed in a lot of other countries.
Also, amazing mind-blowing food in unremarkable places is available everywhere in the world, that is not a US-specific thing.
Yes, but every culture has its own palette they've adapted to. And the American taste of food is just delicious. You'll feel your arteries clog up but damn is it delicious! It's good I don't live there, I would never cook again.
An interesting twist in LA, they mostly sell amazing Mexican food, including the authentic stuff, but somehow also pancakes, burgers, and gyros (?!) that are also passable.
Also maybe an arcade machine, but more likely a drive thru that probably isn't supposed to be there (especially since the food still takes 20 minutes to make).

My Mexican food place has a "drive thru". They pulled the window out and replaced it with a smaller window installed sideways. It has a door bell to let them know you're there. If you're placing your order at the window, you get handed a business card and told to order ahead next time to get your food quicker, and to drive to the front.
The little hole-in-the-wall local restaurants are always a treat to go to. When the food is made with love and passion, it makes all the difference. We have a Jamaican jerk chicken restaurant here that's basically a tiny shack with a kitchen attached to it, and they have the best rotis I've ever had.
