Whoever did this deserves to burn in hell.

[–] Bahnd@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago (2 children)

I curse you!

I curse you with balls-fall-off disease, and lupis.

And not the one with the wolves...

Dr. House will cure them immediately with a diagnosis of lupus. Huntington's might be better.

[–] NikkiDimes@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago

I don't know why, but I burst out laughing at "Queue"

[–] ZILtoid1991@lemmy.world 34 points 3 days ago (6 children)

"G as in Gif" would have been much more evil.

[–] Kage520@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago

I like it. G as in gif, J as in Jif

Honestly this doesn’t bother me half as bad as the ‘M as in’ part does. It should be

Mancy
Alpha
Romeo
Bravo
Lima
Echo

Not:

M as in Mancy
A as in Alpha
R as in Romeo
B as in Bravo
L as in Lima
E as in Echo

[–] aldhissla@piefed.world 40 points 3 days ago

It's a reference to Archer. Archer and Lana conversing: "And M, as in Mancy"; "M, as in what?"; "Mancy. What'd you think I said?"

[–] Bytemeister@lemmy.world 9 points 3 days ago (3 children)

True but also, people are stupid/ easily confused and have a lot of trouble figuring out what you mean unless you use the "As In" description.

Source : I both take and make a lot of support calls. I'd say about 1 in 5 or so people can handle the NATO alphabet at a normal speaking speed.

We still quote this when doing crosswords etc.

[–] dellish@lemmy.world 22 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Should have made N 'night' just to really fuck with K.

[–] Insekticus@aussie.zone 8 points 2 days ago

And I as in Isle

[–] Trex202@lemmy.world 53 points 3 days ago (2 children)

The real troll is leaving Bravo

I gave my nephew a book “p is for pterodactyl, the worst alphabet book ever” I think the adults liked it more than he did

[–] JustEnoughDucks@feddit.nl 1 points 1 day ago

Isn't the point that Ian sounds like it should start with an E, where Isle sounds like it should start with an I?

Funnily enough, I learned something about the peace sign from this.

[–] brygphilomena@lemmy.dbzer0.com 16 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Ha! I made one of these quite a few years ago too.

This is awful. Looks like what AI would produce.

[–] pheelicks@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 day ago

AI could never be this hilariously evil.

[–] farmgineer@nord.pub 18 points 3 days ago (22 children)

It drives me crazy that people skip the 't' in 'tsunami'. Do you want a vinegar wave? That's how we get vinegar waves

G for "Gnat" is bad. It should be something that could be a "G" sound or something else.

Like "G" for "Geoffrey".

And N should be Not (Knot) or Nome (Gnome)

[–] RattlerSix@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Several are like that. S-Sea, D-Double U, T-Tsunami

[–] starik@lemmy.today 1 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Oh, I see the problem. With the semaphore positions, Y looks like it should go between U and V

Mancy Nancy and Oancy are upset at being omitted

[–] RecursiveParadox@piefed.social 7 points 3 days ago (1 children)

This ...is not the NATO alphabet and I also don't get the joke, aside from the Archer references.

What gives?

[–] rants_unnecessarily@piefed.social 27 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (3 children)

They are as bad as possible.

Y = you, or is that U? Sorry please repeat.
F as in four, what? 4?
