Judge again asks Lauren Boebert to show her hand jobby!
...he was accused of being part of a group of friends who used credit cards stolen from cars to make purchases at gas stations. He pleaded guilty to one count of attempted identity theft, a felony, in 2024 under an arrangement...
Isn't that just theft and fraud?
"Attempted identity theft" was a plea bargain, an act of prosecutorial leiniency. A deal that is not guaranteed to all of us.
“He needs to be present for his son and provide for him,” said Boebert, who said she was speaking as a mother and grandmother. She acknowledged that he had broken the terms of his deal with the court.
Tyler Boebert was sentenced last week to one year of probation and 20 days in jail in Weld County for one count of child abuse that didn’t cause injury. He was charged with two counts after his toddler son twice wandered out of the home where he used to live with his mother. He pleaded guilty to one count.
So wait... the charge is that he abuses his child, and your argument is that he should not be given jail time because... he shouldn't be separated from his child?
Note that this is not about the rape that he committed. Or about the identity theft that he committed - This is an entirely different case. It just happens that he is also guilty of rape and identity theft, but there's no need to mention the raping and scamming when discussing this particular case.
Funny all my priors are taken into consideration whenever I break the law, funny rules for me but not thee, fuck that long hard prison time
The article mentions those.
It heavily mentions the ID theft since this voids the ID theft probation deal he had and is precisely what Boebert is asking for leniency on.
Okay so when you are saying he raped someone your talking about the charge he got for sharing a video of him having sex with a 17 year old at age 18? Guys a piece of shit and shouldn't have shared that or filmed it. But every state has laws pertaining to what is considered consensual when they are around the same age.
Or are you talking about yet another case this person somehow to up to while doing everything else wrong
Those kind of laws have led to underage people getting charged for disseminating child porn for sharing naked pics of themselves consensually. Not sure about in CO but in other states.
Yeah it's that charge he's talking about. It's mentioned in the article.
So the woman who was over the age of consent had sex with a man less than a year older who was age of consent. Do you firmly believe that should be repeated over and over as rape? Or do you think that the courts are charging the person for another charge because it was clearly for a different charge
He was charged with Child Sexual Exploitation, not rape. The guy above probably thought he was charged with statutory rape or something. And I never said it was rape, I said it was that charge he was talking about and not a new charge.
Yes, that is what I want to make completely clear to someone. Follow the laws in your area. You aren't a rapist if you have sex with your partner who is of consentual age. You are a fucking asshole if you film it and post it online. Charge him and make sure he is punished. But don't make people believe rape has no meaning. It hurts every person actually raped when it comes to court. People thinking kids less than a year apart auto means rape... Is fucking stupid
"Don't you know who I ~~am~~ was?"
Is she not still in office?
A US rep doesn't have that much pull. A US senator has so much more. Plus boebert almost lost at least one of her last elections if I recall, she will probably be out by next year if she's still in already.
She will get re elected. I hear she's quite handy.
I am getting a polling average of 51 to 48, in her favor, with the probability of her winning at 61 percent but it doesn't explain the methadology behind that at votehub.com and I am skeptical of that. Probably betting markets they report on without even an explanation.
But from another site, she has underperformed the polls every time, and it's gotten worse through time.
Edit: copied wrong part of article, here is what I meant:
'First consider that Boebert is a serial underachiever at the polls, and her performance has worsened every cycle.
At the time of her first campaign in the 3rd Congressional District in the 2020 election, the district leaned right by roughly 13 points, but she beat her Democratic opponent by just 7 points. When she ran for reelection in 2022, the redrawn 3rd District favored Republicans by 9 points, but Boebert’s 546-vote victory margin made that House race the closest in the country.
For the 2024 race she fled the 3rd District for the safer electoral prospects of the 4th, which was drawn with a practically insurmountable 27-point Republican advantage. Indeed, she beat Democratic challenger Trisha Calvarese by 12 points, but that superficially strong win came with a spread that squandered more than half of the district’s built-in boost.
Boebert’s electoral trajectory over the last six years suggests further mediocrity in November.'

So her most conservative district in the state in the eastern plains of colorado will likely remain with her, but it's a toss up unless you credit probabilities given with no methodology, unless you count a 50 page pdf with no real table of contents.
It's not really the eastern plains though. It seems that's tossed around to make it sound like she absconded to the rural, barren wasteland to find hick voters because she's being outcast from the Republican party - while part of her district is the plains there's virtually no one there. It's Douglas county where all her constituents actually are and that's the wealthy southern suburbs of Denver. I'm fact, she has one of if not the wealthiest districts in the state. DougCo has seen some demographic shake ups recently, however, so we'll see how long that contingent of folks keeps voting red as they recently ousted their conservative school board.
Polls assume everyone polled will actually vote.
That was what the pasted part of the article was saying. She has always underperformed the polls, and it's gotten worse. In 2024 a 27 point lead led to her winning b 12.
2022 she polled 9 points ahead and won by less than one, (500 some vote victory.)
In 2020 the party was 13 ahead and she won by 7.
She is only polling like 3 points ahead now.

Someone get her some knee pads and lip balm.
A couple theater tickets are also a viable option.
That is a handie suggestion!
Apparently rape doesn’t count if you’re a rich white boy. Nice work, America.
