I saw a video the other day where the woman was fully blaming Walmart. Not prices everywhere, not the economy, just Walmart. Not that Walmart is innocent, but Jesus....
Well, there's some people who only shop there, so she might have no frame of reference to use, if she was able.

Okay. I mean the farmers might have something to say about it, but sure thing on my end. I love beef, but I ain't married to it for the fuck it all prices it's currently going for.
I also enjoy beef. I had been trying to cut back on red meat for health reasons, but recently, with the stuff that Trump has been doing, like cutting back safety and importing beef of unknown origins, I just completely stopped eating beef.
I don't want to have to keep up with the news in order to know what's safe to eat.

My apartment manager doesn't like the dozen chickens running around, but I told them the Trump administration told me to do it, and what can they say to that? I tell the neighbors the same thing when they complain about the noise and chicken shit everywhere.
What's even more stupid is that she propagates the protein myths AND points them at sources that are not really all that cheap.
If she wanted to help people that are worried about "getting their protein" (oh FFS, and JFC. 🙄 ) she could point them at rice and beans for a much more budget-friendly option with a much longer shelf life.

Yeah, but there's a whole 100 year old system of feeding the US beef. Sure, we can change things. The system however, has been fabricated to produce beef. Its a very very large system that isn't easily just changed. Can it be changed? Sure. Can that change happen easily and without economic pain? No. Its like oil. Sure, alternatives for gas and fertilizer exist, but its a hugely painful process to change when there has been such a reliance on a very ingrained system.
