Vance tells Sean Hannity that Democratic ‘arsonists’ will reverse Trump’s successes even as he admits his own administration needs more time

JD Vance laid out the Trump administration’s best case for a Republican victory in the midterm elections on Thursday, returning to his role as the White House’s great communicator. But instead of empathizing with Americans’ economic pains and fears about the future, the vice president leaned into fear-mongering about Democrats.

Vance spoke with Fox’s Sean Hannity in an interview that aired Thursday, and leaned into the administration’s successes at driving illegal crossings at the U.S.-Mexico border to 50-year lows as he made the case for the GOP.

As he spoke about the supposed priorities of hypothetical Democratic majorities in the House and Senate, however, Vance claimed that his opponents wanted to block Republicans from ever winning elections again and “transform” America, citing such issues as acceptance of transgender Americans.

It certainly feels like we’re treated as peasants like they are in those movies where the king and royalty just treat everyone beneath them like shit. We’re just rabble to be mocked, fodder for the peerage’s disposal. Except you know, unlike real life, in the movie the bad guys get it in the end.

Ah, the old "nation of whiners" trope. Always a solid midterm closing argument.

Little things like the escalating costs of food, clothing & shelter, the basic necessities of life, those little things?

[–] huquad@lemmy.ml 13 points 2 days ago (1 children)

None of you in this thread get it. Did any of you even say thank you?

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 6 points 2 days ago

We should make him thank his firing squad.

[–] Kurtismayfield@lemmy.zip 13 points 2 days ago

Wait, isn't this the guy who couldn't gripe about the little things well, and screwed it up?

Yes, yes it is.

[–] Yerbouti@sh.itjust.works 8 points 2 days ago

like pedophilia?

[–] bunnybunny@lemmy.zip 12 points 2 days ago

What about all the big things? Things like the fact that Trump is a pedophile?

"The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all."

Though GK Chesterton was himself a conservative and a bit of a tool, once again he's the man for the quote. Vance and his handlers fear the bill for their crimes. I have little faith they'll pay it, but they're desperate to prevent that risk entirely.

Americans dying of a thousand paper cuts.

JD: "Quit whining. They're just tiny cuts. You haven't even said thank you for the paper. No, you can't have a bandaid."

Love it. Keep saying this dumb shit JD.

[–] Lushed_Lungfish@lemmy.ca 6 points 2 days ago

Like his and his boss's dicks?

[–] lemmyng@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago

He's gonna wish we left it at griping.

[–] Bwaz@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

Trouble is, almost zero of those successes are for the benefit of the public, and almmost all only benefit Trump and his class.

When was the last time that JD Vance went hungry because he couldn't afford food?

I bleach the sky Every night Loaded on wrong And further from right Spinning around Two howling moons 'Cause they're always there Whatever I do

The river is loaded I've been there today Took it some questions She does me again I'd die in your arms If you were dead too Here comes a lie We will always be true

Going up When coming down Scratch away

It's the little things that kill Tearing at my brains again The little things that kill It's the little things that kill Tearing at my brains again The little things that kill

Bigger you give Bigger you get We're boss at denial But best at forget Cupboard is empty We really need food Summer is winter And you always knew

Going up When coming down Scratch away

It's the little things that kill Tearing at my brains again The little things that kill It's the little things that kill Tearing at my brains again The little things that kill

I touch your mouth My will is food Addicted to love I'm addicted to bullshit I kill you once I kill you again We're starving and crude Welcome my friends to

The little things that kill Tearing at my brains again The little things that kill It's the little things that kill Tearing at my brains again The little things that kill

Is that what his wife told him?

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

Cool. Now if the Murc's Law Media would just take up things like this and endlessly repeat them.

What "JD" here is doing is deeply tone-deaf, for real. The moral scolds of the Murc's Law Media kept getting the vapors anytime anyone even thought to be associated with the Biden administration would point out the good aspects of the economy in 2024...I guess we'll see if the tone police talk about the Republicans nearly as much as they did for Democrats.

"Let's not bicker and argue about who killed who. This is supposed to be a happy occasion!"
