Luckily, self checkouts are expanding in Copenhagen. Seriously beats standing in a line for the next 10 minutes. Such a depressing waste of time.

Anyway, haven't even had half the issues most people seem to complain about with self check out. I'm guessing it's because Danish supermarkets don't half-ass it. Or maybe people are genuinely stupid around even simple technology.

I forgot self-checkouts don't get queues /s

I like self check because there's never a line when I go. With cashiers, the policy was to only open a new register if the lines got over three deep. So, there was always at least three people in line, no matter what time of day, on average.

I've never waited in line since I started using the self check lanes.

I'd rather do self-checkout because these people have no joy in life and they will sit there and drag their asses for minutes chatting with Sally Sue about nothing and then to this one poster's point they'll leave the line to help somebody else and you're left just standing there holding your crap when you could have gone to the self-checkout and been out and and on your way. So that would really piss me off if they killed the self-checkout because the inefficiency is unbelievable. I think maybe in more urban areas with nefarious locals sure kill them or at least heavily monitor them because people be trying to be scumbags and it's not right to steal from a grocery store regardless if the prices are insane or not

I kinda enjoy self checkout. Admittedly I'm one of those people that has a bag of 6 apples but rings up only 4, or inputs the cheaper sku on grapes.

Immagine how much they wanted it to work...

and the realizing it backfired, caused more lifting then realized.

in our area, people are just smashing in grab at a grocery store, because they arent even allowed to give them "customer" service anymore. these people are not hurting for money, but to fuel thier addiction(very high area of people doing various drugs. not even allowed to lock up the expensive stuff, because idiot regionals think the store needs to have all items available for customers.

That sucks, I DIY if the store has baggers since they don't do it well 8/10 times and I check the prices as I scan to see if the discounts applied. I'm pretty fast, and now if they remove them, I could do the job really well and bagger, I gained skills from the experience for possible future use.

Self checkout is amazing. Much faster and more convenient than going to a cashier. Also much lower odds of some retard holding up the entire line.

What self-checkouts have you been to? Typically there's a bunch of people fumbling through trying to get them to work. They don't know where barcodes are, if it's unmarked food they spend so much time trying to figure out how to search for it.

People who don't understand self-checkouts are the worst part.
