MODERATORS

Democratic leaders in the U.S. House of Representatives have condemned a raid on Rep. Ilhan Omar's home as "deeply disturbing" and accused the Trump administration of a "rogue abuse of power" just weeks ahead of November's midterm elections.

Let's see if they do anything besides strong words and maybe some paddles.

Well, now that it’s been condemned, we should definitely see an apology forthright and a promise that it’ll never happen again!

You see…. this how we pretend things work in America. Becasue to speak plainly- it’s just easier to digest this than it is to accept that he’s allowed to do whatever the fuck he wants because there’s no one in the American govdmrt with the balls to stop him.

The dnc can get fucked. I hope the only ppl that win their elections are socialist candidates that want universal healthcare, taxing the rich, et al. Maybe then the dnc will get the message

DNC will declare bankruptcy before they change their tune

[–] Wataba@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

The GOP will bankrupt your country and massacre thousands on thousands before they change.

Get some fucking perspective and take action instead of moping.

[–] zbyte64@awful.systems 0 points 1 hour ago

Isn't that the point? That we shouldn't wait for the DNC to act but take matters into our own hands? That's not moping, it's saying no one is coming to save us so we don't need permission to act.

Imagine a political party that deposes and defames a former federal special counsel by condemning subpoenas for republican members of congress toll records and then crickets* when a democratic congresswoman’s home is invaded and searched. All while saying the former was partisan tactics due to the proximity of charges filed to the elections but again, not a peep about the latter.

[–] echo@lemmy.today 23 points 3 hours ago (3 children)

ICE is going to kidnap her and she's going to be deported... it's all part of the plan.

[–] Pratai@piefed.ca 1 points 3 minutes ago

Yep. I said this earlier. She’s going to be removed from the country.

They've just announced their 1st public execution. I have a feeling this is going to become an expanding trend.

Yeah that would be another major escalation in the ongoing constitutional crisis. It's one more bizarre take from Republicans. They would have lost their minds if Obama went after a member of congress. I will say this for the current administration, though, they're doing a fantastic job of highlighting improvement opportunities for the Constitution. If the country miraculously pulls itself together enough to pass any kind of amendments at all, but especially one limiting executive powers, they should definitely be named after the person whose kind of behavior it's trying to limit. I know they're just numbered. I mean a name like "The Bill of Rights," which describes the first ten amendments.
