If Columbo day is the same day as Canadian Thanksgiving, what are the Americans celebrating on US Thanksgiving?

That scene in Adams Family Values where Wednesday burns the pilgrim's village to the ground.

I'm so happy they kept the pilgrim theme for the Wednesday show.

Speak for yourself. I'll be damned if I celebrate sportsball.

Columo never discovered what is nowadays the USA, he discovered Santo Domingo - Dominican Republic. They have a Colombo Statue with all the reasons.

The first people in the Amerikas are Mongols over the Bering Strait and people from Indonesia, later Wikingos, maybe also Chinese people, all long time before Colombo.

Bro wasn't even the first European, the Norse beat him to it around the time Basil II was still alive

Some pilgrims at some point shared a meal with Native Americans to my understanding (I'm not from there).

The Scandinavians were the first to discover America.

[–] PolandIsAStateOfMind@lemmy.ml 33 points 1 week ago (1 children)

When they were "discovering" America, was there anyone else there at the time?

[–] CyroSignal@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Yes, but I'm talking about the first Europeans to discover the "New World."
