First time I ate over at my husband's, he gave me an entire rib eye and nothing else. This is when I learned about boy dinner.

[–] arrow74@lemmy.zip 8 points 39 minutes ago

I once saw a guy eat an entire pound of ground beef. Just some pan fried ground beef with salt and pepper. Nothing else, just pure boy kibble

[–] 1995ToyotaCorolla@lemmy.world 25 points 1 hour ago

He put pepper on the macaroni, he truly went all-out

[–] RaoulDuke25@lemmy.dbzer0.com 20 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

I mean, if it was hand battered and fried and the mac wasn't kraft but actually put together, then it's a pretty nice meal. Add some vegetables.

[–] BigDiction@lemmy.world 4 points 26 minutes ago

I’d guess the breading was hand done. Bit uneven thickness. Mac sauce looks just about perfect.

Assumed this was Annie’s Mac and Cheese from the color and some random frozen chicken tenders from Costco at first, but the breading looks homemade.

Nice weeknight meal!

Aside from the lack of veggies, I fail to see the issue here.

[–] gastroglizzy@piefed.social 17 points 2 hours ago

All the veggies are contaminated now. This is health food.

He's not wrong, doesn't make it any less delicious!

[–] undefined@lemmy.hogru.ch -4 points 1 hour ago

There’s a lot of unnecessary animal consumption here stemming (probably) from abusive practices.

If the cheese and meat is good, then this is a really nice dinner. Add a simple salad to that and its perfect.

[–] wreckedcarzz@lemmy.world 48 points 3 hours ago (6 children)

simple salad

Is coke okay?

[–] flilare@piefed.zip 31 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

Gotta be Mountain Dew, it's green.

[–] lath@lemmy.world 3 points 2 hours ago

Just Dew it!

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@piefed.social 14 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

I usually do the coke after eating so I don't spoil my appetite.

[–] wreckedcarzz@lemmy.world 8 points 2 hours ago

takes notes

[–] brap@lemmy.world 5 points 2 hours ago (2 children)

What, like cola? Or cocaine?

[–] wreckedcarzz@lemmy.world 7 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

Little bit of column A, little bit of column B

[–] brap@lemmy.world 2 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

Can I come to yours for dinner?

[–] wreckedcarzz@lemmy.world 3 points 2 hours ago (2 children)

You need to find some in your Halloween candy like everyone else :P

Fun fact: consuming coca leaves (from which cocaine is made) is legal in some Latin American countries. It helps with nausea.

[–] wander1236@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

Is the natural concentration pretty high? This made me think of poppy seeds

[–] Augustiner@lemmy.world 2 points 56 minutes ago (1 children)

Not really, you gotta chew a lot or drink a lot of tea to feel anything and then it’s more like drinking a few cups of coffee

[–] eestileib@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 minute ago

It's good for the altitude sickness

The only thing wrong with this meal is the lack of ranch dressing.

[–] Itdidnttrickledown@lemmy.world 1 points 39 minutes ago

looks pretty good to me.

[–] Chee_Koala@lemmy.world 22 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

That breaded fried... meat? chimken? something?- looks fantastic actually, that came out really good. This plate should be really tasty! I would personally at minimum add some mud/swamp native veggies like probably some yellow/white onion finely chopped slowly glazed? I get all my veggies from dinner and sadly, this plate will not supply me with my 200g minimum.

[–] marighost@piefed.social 8 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

Agreed. This plate looks great but it could use some roasted broccoli or sprouts, or sauteed green beans or something. Eat your greens!

[–] HeyJoe@lemmy.world 3 points 2 hours ago

Best we can do is corn. Super healthy corn.

[–] eurodyne@piefed.world 17 points 3 hours ago

So, how many years have you been married to your husband?

[–] adarza@lemmy.ca 6 points 2 hours ago

he put it on a plate instead of just eating the mac & cheese out of the pot, and the nuggs off the oven tray.

he's a KEEPER!!!!

[–] cattywampas@lemmy.world 12 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

Chicken tenders and mac and cheese will always hit.

[–] gastroglizzy@piefed.social 8 points 2 hours ago

S-tier dinner any day.

[–] switcheroo@lemmy.world 2 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

And he didn't burn down his house???

Idk dude sounds like a keeper to me. Tried his best, no paper plates, cooked well, house still intact and I assume his digits aren't cooked as well. Nice!

[–] fonix232@fedia.io 2 points 45 minutes ago

Also, mac&cheese can be fancied up a LOT.

[–] Gerudo@lemmy.zip 16 points 3 hours ago

Damn, if you don't want it, send it my way. Mac n cheese is my ultimate comfort food.

[–] CIA_chatbot@lemmy.world 14 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

This looks fucking delicious

[–] gastroglizzy@piefed.social 2 points 2 hours ago

Fo sho. Would eat.

[–] panda_abyss@lemmy.ca 12 points 3 hours ago* (last edited 2 hours ago) (1 children)

That mac and cheese looks decent, if homemade. Usually the package stuff looks thinner than that at least.

I suspect the chicken is frozen, but it’s a nice breading. Though my family never mastered the art of frying things, so I cannot say.

[–] scytale@piefed.zip 2 points 2 hours ago

Usually the package stuff looks thinner

That's why I go for the shell variant instead. The cheese seems to stick better too.
