This looks amazing though

[–] tigermountain@lemmy.world 2 points 27 minutes ago

He absolutely loves you.

[–] BaraCoded@literature.cafe 2 points 30 minutes ago

It's beautiful to be loved that much.

[–] Malica@lemmy.zip 28 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

First time I ate over at my husband's, he gave me an entire rib eye and nothing else. This is when I learned about boy dinner.

[–] arrow74@lemmy.zip 25 points 3 hours ago (2 children)

I once saw a guy eat an entire pound of ground beef. Just some pan fried ground beef with salt and pepper. Nothing else, just pure boy kibble

[–] varyingExpertise@feddit.org 8 points 2 hours ago

I am stealing that expression.

[–] Stormy@thelemmy.club 4 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

When I went away to college, my mom would mail me cooked ground beef.

[–] CalypsoGirl@lemmy.today 1 points 16 minutes ago (1 children)

Did she have it refrigerated & sent with ice packs? If not, eew, major health code violation & I assume you didn't die of worms since you're here to tell a story about how thoughtful your mom is.

Yes, ice packs and one giant zip lock of 4 pounds of meat. I don't really know why she did it, I had a job and money. I did eat it and it was nice though. Poured it into a bowl and microwaved it.

He put pepper on the macaroni, he truly went all-out

[–] Rivalarrival@lemmy.today 6 points 1 hour ago (1 children)
[–] EmpatheticTeddyBear@lemmy.world 5 points 43 minutes ago

He used that to make the tenders.

[–] DonutsRMeh@lemmy.world 4 points 1 hour ago

This protein, carbs and fat. The full set.

[–] SnarkoPolo@lemmy.world 5 points 2 hours ago

My wife would be thrilled. This is her jam. But gotta have the ranch.

[–] RaoulDuke25@lemmy.dbzer0.com 36 points 4 hours ago (2 children)

I mean, if it was hand battered and fried and the mac wasn't kraft but actually put together, then it's a pretty nice meal. Add some vegetables.

[–] tigermountain@lemmy.world 1 points 26 minutes ago

No vegetables!

[–] BigDiction@lemmy.world 14 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

I’d guess the breading was hand done. Bit uneven thickness. Mac sauce looks just about perfect.

Assumed this was Annie’s Mac and Cheese from the color and some random frozen chicken tenders from Costco at first, but the breading looks homemade.

Nice weeknight meal!

[–] Drusas@fedia.io 2 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

I do not get people enjoying Annie's.

[–] BigDiction@lemmy.world 4 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

I think it’s fine for boxed Mac. What don’t you like about it?

[–] Slovene85@sh.itjust.works 4 points 38 minutes ago* (last edited 37 minutes ago) (1 children)

So is Annie's OK? Is Annie's OK? Is it OK from Annie's?

[–] BigDiction@lemmy.world 1 points 17 minutes ago

Ha I feel like I’m missing the joke

[–] slaacaa@lemmy.world 33 points 4 hours ago (2 children)
[–] tetris11@feddit.uk 5 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

what the hell is the fork for?

[–] toomanypancakes@crazypeople.online 3 points 39 minutes ago

The whiskey.

[–] deus@lemmy.world 3 points 1 hour ago

Now we're talking!

[–] TheMuffinMan@piefed.world 60 points 5 hours ago (3 children)

Aside from the lack of veggies, I fail to see the issue here.

[–] gastroglizzy@piefed.social 33 points 4 hours ago

All the veggies are contaminated now. This is health food.

If the cheese and meat is good, then this is a really nice dinner. Add a simple salad to that and its perfect.

[–] Randelung@lemmy.world 4 points 57 minutes ago

The super salad for me, please.

I usually do the coke after eating so I don't spoil my appetite.

The only thing wrong with this meal is the lack of ranch dressing.

[–] phar@lemmy.world 4 points 2 hours ago

This is a boy dinner not a girl dinner

[–] switcheroo@lemmy.world 5 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

And he didn't burn down his house???

Idk dude sounds like a keeper to me. Tried his best, no paper plates, cooked well, house still intact and I assume his digits aren't cooked as well. Nice!

[–] fonix232@fedia.io 3 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Also, mac&cheese can be fancied up a LOT.

[–] EmpatheticTeddyBear@lemmy.world 2 points 37 minutes ago

My fanciest before I actually took culinary classes was when I was a teenager. I had leftover baked salmon in the fridge. I flaked it while it was still cold, made some Kraft mac n cheese, and folded in the salmon just before serving, and a side of roasted broccoli (seasoned with salt and pepper). Still one of my most successful meals that I served when I was a teenager - zero complaints from the family.

[–] Chee_Koala@lemmy.world 28 points 5 hours ago (3 children)

That breaded fried... meat? chimken? something?- looks fantastic actually, that came out really good. This plate should be really tasty! I would personally at minimum add some mud/swamp native veggies like probably some yellow/white onion finely chopped slowly glazed? I get all my veggies from dinner and sadly, this plate will not supply me with my 200g minimum.

Chicken tenders and mac and cheese will always hit.
