"I can just see the fake headlines," Trump said. "President Trump is talking about all the money they're making while people are suffering at the pump."

"But I said, ‘I don't give a damn, I'm gonna say it: We're making a frickin fortune,’" he added.

Whenever he says America he means "me".

For examle: Me first! or Democrats are the greatest threat to me.

“I am the state” - King Louis the Fourteenth, notoriously the most monarchal consolidating ruler of France

"I am the senate" — Emperor Sheev Palpatine

How can a non-wealthy trump supporter hear this and continue to support him?

He's pissing in your fucking face.

[–] warm@kbin.earth 45 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Because as long as he is pissing in minorities faces too, it's acceptable for them.

They are just brainwashed.

[–] GuyFawkesV@lemmy.world 27 points 1 week ago (9 children)

I’m done with “brainwashed”. They’re fuckin morons.

[–] Rothe@piefed.social 8 points 1 week ago

It is important to clarify that they are hateful morons. The "hate"-part is doing a lot of work. You can be a moron and not be a Trump supporter, but it is very rare to see a hateful moron who isn't one.

They don't know he said this.

[–] angband@lemmy.world 19 points 1 week ago

That's right. The "editorial" for small town papers around here, which are mostly owned by super rich people now is a satire bit about the editor making fun of himself wanting to be king, to try and make fun of the no kings movement. Nothing of actual substance ever enters conservative owned media outside of them making fun of it so their base sadly thinks they are being clever by rejecting opposing views.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 10 points 1 week ago

It’s quite amazing how dumb these maga people continue to be.

"I can see the fake headlines: Trump says thing that Trump believes."

"But I don't give a damn, (says thing that "fake" headlines say)"

MAGA: "YEAH! If I had more than one braincell beating itself over the head I might be confused by your statement! But thankfully I have NO braincells!"

[–] artyom@piefed.social 54 points 1 week ago (2 children)

The "fake headlines" that say the thing you just said...?

Every day I'm in awe that this man made it anywhere near the oval office. Just completely unabashed stupidity comes out of his mouth constantly. Even if it wasn't horrendously crooked (which it is), or criminal (which it also is), or callous, it would just be fucking stupid .

[–] warm@kbin.earth 14 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The power of social media. Fascism is back because of it.

It baffles me that people see this guy getting increasingly unhinged the farther into his dementia he gets, and they just shrug. Congress could remove him anytime they want too.

[–] ChickenLadyLovesLife@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago (4 children)

His supporters don't see this stuff.

Missing a word there I think:

Trump says he doesn't 'give a damn' about gas prices as US BILLIONAIRES are making a 'fortune'

[–] Jiral@lemmy.world 30 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

By "US" he means himself of course. L'État c'est moi. He does not have a concept of the US as a state or cares about anything of that kind. Mobsters only care about their own financial interests.

Extorting a fortune from the working class. I can’t wait until an angry mob gives him the Mussolini finale

He is, the rest are just serfs in his head

[–] Dispassionate@quokk.au 17 points 1 week ago

And they vote for him!

[–] CannonFodder@lemmy.world 24 points 1 week ago

It's because his usage of 'fake' doesn't mean what one might think. He simply means a headline that he doesn't like.

[–] spaghettiwestern@sh.itjust.works 23 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Translation: This is working just as the child rapist intended - transferring wealth from ordinary Americans to the 1%, exactly the same as his tariffs.

[–] chiliedogg@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago

It's not even the 1% anymore. It's the 0.01%.

You can even see this in the enclave cities where everyone is a millionaire. They're experiencing a round of gentrification as the billionaires come in and bulldoze a row of 5 million dollar mansions to build compounds.

It's absolutely wild.

[–] humanspiral@lemmy.ca 21 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Advisers told me not to say it

is the right "build up" before the punch line.

He's bragged about destroying the world through Iran war with the same brag before. Also adding, that destroying world is good for America because of high US oil production and US doesn't need Straight of Hormuz.

So there's always been a tails we lose, heads we deserved to lose all along, plan for the war.

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 20 points 1 week ago

US = stock market = him

He's a piece of shit, he needs to BLER be sent to a farm upstate.

[–] Buffalox@lemmy.world 19 points 1 week ago

USA is also making a fortune on the Russian war on Ukraine. And Trump doesn't give a shit about Ukrainians dying every day.
Trump is a psycho or rather malignant narcissist which is even worse than psycho- and sociopath combined.
And Americans are evil as a country for voting him in.

[–] blastosist@lemmy.zip 18 points 1 week ago

His presidency is a slow motion car wreck, but we are in the car and he having the time of his life .

[–] myyass@lemmy.world 18 points 1 week ago

Trump says he doesn't 'give a damn' ~~about gas prices as US making 'fortune'~~

Fixed the title.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 17 points 1 week ago (2 children)

The US is making such a fortune that its national debt is larger than it has ever been. But Trump only cares for Trump.

'we' as in Trump family and friends

[–] Snapz@lemmy.world 14 points 1 week ago

You are not included in the "we" that's "making a fortune", trump voters. You are the we who are paying for trump to rob you, still lose money in the end and call it profit.

[–] kreskin@lemmy.world 13 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The kleptocrats are the only ones making a fortune. Americans are all broke.

[–] Fredselfish@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 week ago

When he says we he means him.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 13 points 1 week ago

Yeah, because donnie dumbass made 2+ billion dollars since the start of his second failed term.

[–] Corvidae@lemmy.world 13 points 1 week ago (6 children)

Commuting is not deductible. Can't afford gas to get to work? Too bad.

And the chuckle fucks still support him

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 11 points 1 week ago (3 children)

He has DOUBLED the national debt, but he thinks we're making a fortune. He's like the guy who thinks he's rich because he can buy anything he wants with a credit card.

[–] SnarkoPolo@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago

And still in most states, the elections are "neck and neck."

Thanks, media. You got your exciting and profitable horse race election. We got fascism.
