"The salient fact of American politics is that there are fifty to seventy million voters each of who will volunteer to live, with his family, in a cardboard box under an overpass, and cook sparrows on an old curtain rod, if someone would only guarantee that the black, gay, Hispanic, liberal, whatever, in the next box over doesn't even have a curtain rod, or a sparrow to put on it."

This quote has always rung true. They do not care how bad they are hurt, as long as someone else is hurt worse.

That right there is an example of how the media drives the narrative. The exact same thing can be said about the other party, but they save such loaded language for just the one. It’s designed to sound like a reasonable statement while sparking an emotional response.

Americans are swimming in a sea of propaganda.

Lets him run? Fuck that, they paved the way and ensured it would happen. They are fully complicit in everything that is happening. This has been plain as day for years now.

The coup is over, they have all the power, now the only thing that can save us is their incompetence.

I agree, it’s multi faceted, and yeah, the dems suck too. I just feel people have agency in this, and sometime, when faced with a difficult decision, adults need to make the best choice. I’m a parent and have to make all kinds of shitty decisions, often involving actual shit. But I’m an adult, and I know that a shitty decision that ultimately supports a good outcome, is still the right one.

I’m 100% in agreement that the dems failed, but so did the electorate.

Yes, this I feel is the crux of the situation. The industry is trying to hammer a probabilistic solution into deterministic holes. I mean, it’s no wonder people keep fucking up their shit with openclaw. If have an agent, it should do exactly what I tell it.

Everyone wants to vote for a principled leader, but there are those of us who aren’t willing to give up the tiny bit of power we have just to try and prove a point.

This is a 2 party system, regardless of lip service. Kamala wasn’t my first choice for president but she was the only one. It was her or the other fucker full stop. So, I did everything I could to elect the one who we had some hope of controlling. The dems showed they ultimately listen to their voters with enough pressure when they ditched Biden, the other guy we all knew what was going to happen.

So, to all those protest voters, I’m super happy for you and your maga companions, feeling so proud of yourselves while the country burns.

I too have been to Jamaica. That second bite of brownie was an experience.

The colloquial we, I most certainly did not vote for this either but I’m American and will be painted with the same brush the rest of the world paints us.

Agree wholeheartedly on the Cassandra’s comment, I’m wearing it as a badge of pride.

Yes, this is the future we all wanted, a workforce consisting of nothing but influencers and prison labor (what else are those camps for). The american dream everyone!

I mean, the us knowingly and willfully handed this fucker everything. This on the heels of the Supreme Court essentially making him untouchable. None of what is happening was a secret, it was literally written down in a plan that we all could see.

America decided that a felon, admitted sexual predator, and a the most prolific liar to ever hold office was a better choice to lead us. I’d say we go exactly what we asked for.

Criminal, that fits, evil, that too, disastrous, for sure, but I can’t call them rogue when this is precisely what we apparently wanted (we tried to warn them).

And it’s all part of ai training data now too.

I used to wonder when I watched “Star Trek TNG” as a kid, how they could ask for and get such detailed biographical information of a long dead person, enough to recreate that person convincingly, in a holodeck. Well, I guess I have my answer.

I really thought I’d be living in something like the federation one day, instead I’m here boning up on the Ferengi Rules of Acquisition.
