Don't worry about the haters. Those people would claim that a director of a movie isn't doing any "creative" work, because the director just "prompts" the actors to give a good performance. Not to mention making a bunch of creative decisions about the script, dialog, shot composition, set design, color grading, music, sound design, editing, etc.
