I worked at a company where we all got paid very well but they still did the bullshit company "team-building." I never participated on purpose. If I was forced to be present, I did everything I could to make it clear I didn't want to be there. I was considered a grouch and I fuckin' was, because unlike the suits that thought this dumb shit up, I had actual important work to do and a gun to my head in the form of a hard deadline.

Yeah, I get it and I share much of the sentiment, but I bet this guy uses Facebook. Everybody should have some level of paranoia, but it's the rare individual that can beat them all. Me, I'm not on Facebook or any other non-anonymous social media, but I use Gmail. Almost everybody trades off a little somewhere.
Everything you said is absolutely true and thoroughly shit. It's just a shame that the system's solution is to now rob them of an actual education as well.
The only thing keeping America on any kind of footing at all is that exposure to classical education largely deprograms the religious bullshit most American kids grow up with. Oh, and it actually educates them, as opposed to whatever AI assisted bullshit "workers" this is going to end up giving us.
Edit: although... religion is dying here anyway, so optimistically, maybe kids these days will need the deprogramming less and AI will improve dramatically. We could theoretically end up with a net benefit.
Who wants to go as a ghost?
Not me!
They used to be fun, they were made to look like a seaside shanty, with the wood decks and piers and ropes. Inside they had nets and treasure chests and everything was dark wood made to look like a galley on a pirate ship and you could even get a pirate hat. Now they look like a school cafeteria.
