I live less than 30 miles away from 3 of the world's most famous golf courses and I have literally zero interest in the sport. The closest one is just something I cycle through occasionally.

The US uses a slightly different Octane rating system that averages slightly lower than the more common RON. The system they use averages RON with MON which is measured under different engine conditions. The pump is labeled with (R+M)/2 to indicate this in the image. According to Wikipedia, 88 is equivalent to 95 RON.
No idea why they feel the need to be different.
The reason I first used it was they had a way to bypass the limited list of extensions that Mozilla allowed to be installed but this is no longer an issue so no real idea what the benefit is anymore. I'd guess at disabled telemetry but don't quote me on that.
I switched to Ironfox a while back but still keep fennec around for the occasional site that Ironfox breaks.
