If people are asking, it's worth the 12 seconds it takes to post a link to a BW instance. They should just make sure it's to a general instance, and not to a server selection page.

My 4690k diedast summer, just before the component prices started to skyrocket. Upgraded to a Ryzen 7 5800X with 96GB of DDR4 memory for $300. Mobo, SSD, wifi module, the whole works.

I couldn't believe how 16GB of DDR4 was listed on Kijiji for $250 like just a month later.

I've done this. Told them up front what my current salary was. Tild them directly they could meet or beat it and we'd be good. Went through weeks of interviews.

They offered me a $20k per year lower salary than what I was making. Because that was their salary for my region.

I told them that was unacceptable. That I was uo front about the minimum I'd accept. They countered with a $15k paycut.

They seemed genuinely syrprised when I said no.

This is baasically correct, though what the models actually produce is a little more randomized than that. Though, if there aren't any words that are anywhere cllose to being likely to follow next, then there won't be a any other valid options to choose.

Eh. It's actually a fair bit more complicated than that. As usual, the ownership class twists everything to their desire for control.

This is cool. I hope it gets support from instances.

But also, these projects just slap a bulletain board costume on Lemmy and Piefed. Which is great -- I was reallly disappointed that LemmyBB seemed to die -- but there are forum-first options out there, too. Discourse has an AP plugin, and I think that's actively maintained. More interesting to me, though, is nodeBB.

Seriously, people should check out nodeBB. It's super cool.

People should not expect a seamless experience across totallly different communities of people. Reddit is not a seamless experience. Rules and norms are different across subs.

The internet works better with fragmentation. It always has. Trying to treat everything as homogenous is stifling.
