I feel you. I definitely feel the Skynet/HAL route is more appropriate. I've started modifying my prompts to make sure the LLM does not sound like a person. How they try to be all friendly, flattering etc is so irksome.

Good point. The difference between wisdom and intelligence. You don't need high IQ to be wise.
I'm already feeling like 30 is the new 60 ๐คฃ Worrying about everything going tits up and white knuckling the wheel.
It's kind of funny how Adam Smith saw the need for moral philosophy to constrain greed in the economics of capitalism yet for most modern capitalists, capitalism is their moral philosophy ๐คฃ
