That kid is getting scouted by the US military by end of day.
Couple that with the fact that so many Americans wanting to shoot as many human beings as physically possible is still an enormous cause for concern even if we somehow prevent them from getting a gun.
They say it's because "PETA is crazy!" or some other non-statement like they don't turn around and bitch about vegans as a whole.
People don't hate them because they're "annoying" or "crazy." They hate them because they're right. No one wants to be confronted by their Jungian shadow.

That's overwhelmingly the critique people have of PETA. They humanely euthanize instead of just letting animals starve on the streets. Not one viable alternative has been proposed here beyond "let other shelters try to adopt them" like there are shelters turning animals away for the sake of turning them away and not because they literally don't have the capacity to do anything.
That's why the overwhelming majority of these complaints are just vague innuendo about PETA doing "cruelty," whatever that means exactly.
