I really like software that is built from plugins, but it needs to have some stable 'core' plugins shipped by default, like emacs for example. Nothing by default is pretty useless but it all depends on constraints and requirements.

alt+sysrq+b bypasses this handler, also switching to another vt should just drop you in a normal shell it as well as long the login shell isn't modified. There are a lot of ways that can be used to break out.

This, it's extremely popular in enterprise to the point where debian just isn't an option. Something like wind river should be deep in the red square.
