Until China starts openly threatening canada's sovreignty, they will be a better friend than the US.

This will last until interference becomes so egregious and corrosive that it’s impossible to ignore.

The US government has been meeting with Canadian seperatists and that is already impossible to ignore. Is Chinese interference going to be more profound than that?

The US government has been spying on it's allies for decades. At least china doesn't pretend to be our friend while they do it.

Yeah, it sucks though that for 95.5% of "the world" we don't even have distinct politics or news subs in an instance called lemmy.world. I'd really like to find a place where I can read about the politics or news of the actual whole world (including the US) and ironically none of these are that.

politics@lemmy.us should be about US politics... America isn't the world.
