The megacorp I work for is frothing at the mouth to replace people with AI. Most of leadership doesn't know anything about programming, but still feel confident to talk about it.

Many (most?) employees get a salary and are done. Only shareholders benefit from the long term health of the company. Most of the shareholders don't put any meaningful work into producing value.
This is one of the core injustices of capitalism. People who don't work profit.
I would hope, perhaps foolishly, that those appointments would not be confirmed.
