The megacorp I work for is frothing at the mouth to replace people with AI. Most of leadership doesn't know anything about programming, but still feel confident to talk about it.

One of the big common themes of conservatism is following the leader. They all want to bend the knee. They love hierarchy.

The people who made the decision to fire for AI should be kicked out.
Many (most?) employees get a salary and are done. Only shareholders benefit from the long term health of the company. Most of the shareholders don't put any meaningful work into producing value.
This is one of the core injustices of capitalism. People who don't work profit.
I would hope, perhaps foolishly, that those appointments would not be confirmed.

Republicans are conservatives, authoritarians, the most important thing for them is adherence to the group. If they valued anything else more, they wouldn't be Republicans.
It does feel like the average person has the self control of a toddler.
